We love Ashley furniture. I want to start with that. It’s good, family-quality stuff that lasts. It’s the shopping experience that has started getting to me, and while being able see, feel, and it on, products is an invaluable experience, I was very disappointed with our most recent shopping experience.
We walked in and a sales person immediately greeted us - that’s great - and we clarified that we are looking at dining sets and we’d prefer to wander and look at items alone first and we’d let him know when we had questions. He then continued to follow us around the store at an awkward (close) distance, staring at us for a good 20 minutes. He eventually wandered off, but this made for an awkward start. We found one we really liked and when we found him to ask questions, he answered them however, once we pulled up the set online (on Ashley’s site) to check some info, we found that what he’d told us was incorrect.
We asked, “what is upstairs?” (Regarding the showroom) and he said there was nothing up there we would be interested in, not any dining sets. We said we were looking for a set that had chairs without upholstery on the seats, to which he said all of their sets had upholstered seats.
Wandering a bit longer, ready to give up, another sales person asked of we’d been upstairs. We explained we were told there wasn’t any dining sets up there, to which she laughed and said we should definitely check the upstairs items because there was a set up there with non-upholstered seats! So, upstairs we went!
So… we found there was not only one set upstairs, but multiple sets and more than one with the style and type we had explained to the sales person.
We ended up finding the set we wanted, compromising on a standard height set (we’d hoped go find counter height) and we went ahead and placed the order, as this set checked every other box we’d hoped to find. After scouring the Ashley web page, the set was not available in counter height,
Fast forward to the next day… long story short, we found the same set at a display on base (Army base) but it was available in counter height (and a lot less expensive)! What! We went back to the Ashley page (which one would assume would have all of the available items for sale) and it still did not have the set in counter height even listed. Also, there is absolutely no way to call the store directly, and the call center cannot help with price matching questions, so we gave up and just cancelled the order via Ashley directly and ordered the set through shopmyexchange (military annex shopping) in spite of the order/delivery time being longer than the Ashely store.
Overall, while we love Ashley furniture, we were extremely disappointed with our shopping experience at the showroom… the sales people seemed to be mis-informed, the information they do have is limited to the website (which we can look up ourselves), and feeling pressured right out of the gate made an awkward experience overall. It’s VERY odd to me that all of the potential options aren’t listed on the Ashley site, having to go elsewhere to order.

I want to say this is the best experience I've had with any furniture store I have ever been to! Jim came right up to me and went above and beyond helping me.
And listened to my needs as well as being very compassionate and understanding what I was looking for. He was very patient and explain things to me that I didn't have to ask for! Thank you, Jim for my wonderful experience and I'm looking forward to my delivery for my sofa bed.

Our shopping experience was great. We were greeted promptly. When we told the store representative what we were looking for, they explained the store layout and invited us to browse. They then cicled back and led us around while fielding our questions. We eventually purchased a rug and the process was efficient. A very pleasurable experience.

The salesperson was very accommodating and patient with me as I sat in every chair in the building before making my choice. I found exactly what I was looking for: a compact, swivel rocking chair. I didn’t want the striped upholstered one on the floor so he swiftly ordered the plain beige one I wanted. They deliver in two days. I’m excited like a kid at Christmas. The salesperson even asked if I could get a discount because I told him I’m old enough to be his grandmother. I’ll post pictures when it arrives. I definitely recommend doing business with Ashley Furniture.

We had a great experience here with our salesman Evan. (The one that wears his name tag upside down) He is very knowledgeable about their furniture and business practices. Come on over and give him a try. They have many great products to choose from. There are also many different types of discounts, including Veterans.
Relax/sleep well.
