What should have been a simple purchase turned into one of the most frustrating customer service experiences I’ve had in years.
We originally worked with Nick, and after multiple days of phone tag and missed communication, we finally went back into the store hoping to get answers. Unfortunately, Nick wasn’t available, and we ended up dealing with Debbie.
When we walked in, Debbie was actively engaged in what appeared to be a personal phone call with a lender. Rather than finishing her conversation before helping customers, she attempted to assist us while continuing her personal business. The interaction felt distracted, unprofessional, and dismissive from the start.
The communication issues only continued. We later received calls asking us to reconfirm information that had already been provided, creating the impression that nobody was actually listening or documenting details properly.
The biggest issue came after delivery. The box spring we received is undersized and does not properly fit the mattress or frame. When we brought the issue forward, Debbie’s response was essentially that the sizing was “industry standard” and that we should simply accept it. There was no effort to understand the concern, investigate the discrepancy, or provide a solution. Instead, the attitude was dismissive and came across as “you get what you get.”
Eventually Patrick, the manager, became involved. By that point, however, so much time had been wasted through phone tag, repeated explanations, store visits, and follow-up conversations that the value of my lost time exceeded the cost of the box spring itself. What should have been a straightforward purchase became an ongoing project that required far more effort from the customer than the retailer.
I don’t expect perfection, but I do expect professionalism, communication, and a willingness to resolve legitimate customer concerns. Instead, we experienced poor communication, dismissive service, and a complete lack of ownership when problems arose.
I would strongly encourage Mattress Firm leadership to review both the customer service issues and the apparent sizing discrepancy rather than dismissing customers who raise valid concerns.

I was warmly greeted by Patrick when I first opened the door. He answered all my questions without any pressure. Great personality & excellent people skills. I got the bed I wanted at an excellent price.
Highly recommend Matress Firm at Sparks.

Debbie was amazing! She took time with me explaining the different features on all the beds and allowed time for me to experience how the beds felt spending time on different ones. Very accommodating and personable, I felt she really cared that I find the right bed for me......such a blessing!

Debbie was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the product. She even offered me the best deals they have at the store. I left the store happy and satisfied, having purchased my dream mattress, a CA King Tempur-Pedic, and a Tempur-Pedic adjustable base. I can’t wait for my products to arrive; I’m very excited!

My wife and I went in there looking for a twin mattress for a six-year-old, and the marine vet who helped us served us with great enthusiasm, character and patience. He explained every model that we asked questions about. He was professional and personal. This was our first time at this particular store ever and we now will return because of the service and knowledge we received.
