CONTEXT:
⚪My husband and I purchased a California King -Kingdom Icy Copper Mattress from Mattress & Furniture Express on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at 4:46 PM (receipt and picture of mattress attached).
🔴 OVERALL INFORMATION:
The mattress deal (price) was very reasonable ($975) and we were able to try the exact mattress out in the shop. The mattress was very comfortable and in good shape. The sales person worked within our budget to give us a deal we were comfortable with. HOWEVER, the lack of communication, poor customer service, and intentional scamming that occured after our purchase has led us to give a poor review and caution anyone thinking of doing business with this shop in the future.❗🚩🚩🚩🚩
DETAILS:
🚩Prior to paying for the mattress, the sales person helping us out told us we could take the mattress that day. When they went to the back to grab the mattress, they informed us they actually did not have it in stock and they would deliver it for free Friday, March 15. They should have checked prior to us paying & telling us we could take it that day. In retrospect , this was the first 🚩, but at the time we didn't see it as a huge deal, agreed, and left.🙃
🚩Come Friday, March 15, no mattress was delivered. We called in and they told us it was running late and would be delivered the following Friday, March 22. We were a little annoyed, but were understanding and didn't make this a big deal. 🙃
🚩Come Friday, March 22, still no mattress was delivered. We called in again and they told us that the mattress was delivered to the shop, but would be delivered to our home Saturday, March 23 from 11am-2pm. We asked if we could pick it up instead and they did not have this option available because it was "loaded on the truck already." 🙃🙄
🚩Come Saturday, March 23 at 2pm- still no mattress delivered. We called in again, this time asking for the name of who we spoke to. Manny told us the shop does not do any deliveries on Fridays or Saturdays, only Sunday through Thursday. He cut us off while we spoke, underplayed the mistakes made, and did not try to make the situation better. He was laughing in the background and asking us to repeat what we were saying multiple times.😡
🚩After our conversation with Manny, we physically went back into the store Saturday afternoon and spoke to someone named Yao. He listened to us and called the manager to figure out what happened. He eventually informed us that our mattress was in Chico and they'd have it to us Sunday, March 24 between 11am-2pm.🙄🙄🙄
🚩Come Sunday, a mattress was delivered at 2pm. However, it was the wrong mattress. 🤯🤬We told the delivery person this was incorrect, even showing him pictures of the one we ordered. He ignored us, threw the mattress on the floor, told us to call the shop, and left. We called the shop again and spoke to Yao. Yao told us that Chico did not have the mattress, so they "upgraded us for free." We told him we wanted what we paid for. They said, try out the mattress and if you don't like it, we can switch it out when we get your mattress.
📸 I have attached the photos of both mattress (what we ordered in the shop vs what we delivered to us). It was definitely not an upgrade.

Be careful when buying furniture from this place! I bought a mattress for 900 on sale. It was very soft. When I got my mattress delivered, it was hard and it looked different. I went into the store and told them I think I have the wrong mattress. They said no you got the correct mattress. I told him that the one I had ordered was soft and this one is very firm. He told me to walk on it so I can soften it after having it for two years, the mattress is still hard and I finally found my receipt and I noticed that they are two different mattresses. I was right they gave me the wrong one probably a cheaper one. Also, I purchased a dining table from them it’s in my storage. It has fallen apart in two pieces. Just giving you guys a warning be careful.

Yao was such a nice and welcoming person, he offered modifications and other options for our couch. Flexible with every customer and amazing customer service. Such a great service, would definitely recommend it to others to find something affordable. We cannot let go of this great deal that he offered us. Thank you again!
