I had previously purchased a futon here a number of years ago and remembered how great of an experience it was. So when I was in need of an extra mattress, a twin size this time, I knew just the place to go to.
I arrived there and was greeted by the gentleman who runs the place. He knows his stuff and the inventory he has on hand, which makes it easier to stay focused on the mattresses that are currently in stock.
He has a great customer database, so he is able to pull up past purchase/s, mine was from quite a number of years ago - a definite perk if you’re looking to purchase the same type.
As a sidenote, some of the futons come pre-rolled, and vacuum sealed, which makes transportation much easier - you may not need a truck. When you get home, all you need to do is cut the plastic open and it will unroll in front of you and thicken back up to its original size.
All around a great experience and I highly recommend!

We have been on a floor sleeping journey for a long time after sleeping on a memory foam mattress for 7 years.
We were drawn to the japanese way of sleeping on the ground with tatami mats, so we tried a basic foam mattress so we could fold it up and use our space more efficiently.
I am a heavier guy (I blame a troubled childhood, donuts and pizza) with a small wife. She slept great, I did not. I ended up sleeping on a cot for most of the winter.
This whole time I had been using ChatGpt to learn more about this subject. It said the best thing to do was to try an 6-8inch futon mattress at a company I had driven by many times in uptown “Sleep Concepts”.
It’s been a long time since I ever have talked to a retail specialist over the phone that treated me like I was an actual human being and not an inconvenience.
I didn’t know John yet but when we drove down to check out the futons it was like meeting someone that instantly vibed with our vibe.
He was curious, polite, friendly, professional and stood behind his products and answered everything honestly and directly. No up sale routine, no pushy or rude attitude, just “welcome! What are looking for? How can I help?”
Buying big purchases is difficult for us but we did our homework and John instantly made us feel like we were part of the family. He walked us through his inventory, didn’t bog us down with information and even stayed late with us as we went back and forth trying to understand what we were going to need, how it would look like, how long it would last and other logistics . I said “either way we will be spending our money here! After we sleep on it”
We talked about it, we reviewed what we had learned and the next day we made our choice and decided to go with the Holbrook 2500. We looked at this purchase as an investment for our sleep which was severely suffering before hand. I could tell that John understood that and it makes sense why the have been in business for over 30 years!
Every futon we tried was comfortable and since we did our research it made perfect sense that this was what we were looking for.
We will be investing in some extra things on top of the price to protect the purchase, make it last longer and give us that extra support I need but you could easily just get one of the premium futons like ours and even wait to decide what cover you want to go with. Sleep Concepts is accommodating to your schedule and budget. We needed that flexibility and it was nice that they accepted many forms of payment.
If you are looking for a futon, rug or bedroom furniture, I can easily say this is the best company/store in town. They do have a couple other locations if you live in the north or south metro which might be helpful to someone but we love going down to uptown and supporting local businesses!
If you want to go to big box retailer with sub par customer service and less than excellent quality products or risk buying something online, be our guest! But I highly recommend avoiding both of those options and give John a call! You’ll be glad you did! ✌🏽

I have owned multiple futons, beds, and mattresses from Sleep Concepts. The have outstanding customer service, high quality products that are super comfortable and long lasting, and competitive pricing. John and his team are experts who take great care of their customers and have been in the business for many decades. Highly recommended!

Pete was knowledgeable and friendly, and let us explore on our own, which we loved. He was there with questions and recommendations and personal experience. We were just there to browse but we ended up buying a mattress thanks to his helpful info and the reasonable pricing. We’re so pleased! We’ll be back for a futon someday….

I was blown away by how amazing this experience was. I walked into the store and met John, who was very helpful with me while he was working with another customer. He answered all my questions, was very easy going and didn't pressure me. He helped me choose the futon I wanted, went over all the options, worked with me on delivery and setup. Next time I need something I am going back to this store, you should too.
