House of Oak & Sofas

March 27-2026. I drove to house of oak in their Harrisonburg location to pick up a dresser. The lady and gentleman were very friendly and I was on my way in no time. Got home unboxed the dresser and noticed the top drawer face was not flush with the dresser we also noticed it was made from particle board and not actual wood. Very disappointed with our purchase.

House of Oak & Sofas was the only furniture store in town that had exactly what I was looking for - a queen bed for a newly rejuvenated guest room. They anticipated a 6-week wait, but it came in five. Merle himself called to arrange delivery. Wonderful product, great quality, excellent customer service, and delivery.

Incredible customer service. Reasonable prices and quality furniture. Unexpectedly, they threw in some free pillows with the purchase, which was appreciated. I ordered a sofa, and since they sell off-the-floor, they let me know they could deliver it to me fairly quickly at a reasonable price. An upcoming heavy snow storm on the agreed delivery date meant on-time delivery was obviously jeopardized. When I received a call from them, I expected to be told they’d be late, but instead, they offered to deliver it early. That’s what it means to surprise and delight the customer.

We (Ridwan and Mark) were planning to move to a new house and had decided to replace some of our furniture at the same time. We meet with both Merle and Bill who first listened to what was important to us then showed us furniture and rugs to use in our new house. Their recommendations were spot on. They also offered to hold the delivery until we moved to our new house. We were completely satisfied with the entire process including the delivery and set-up. The delivery team was very professional. We’ve been in our new house about two weeks and thoroughly enjoy our new furniture and rug. It all fits our needs and décor perfectly. We plan to use House of Oak and Sofa in the future.

Nice furniture. Looks like good quality. We were excited and motivated to buy from a local store today. My mother in law was super excited to purchase her pieces today after many days of picking out the swatches she liked and style sofa and chairs. She was in full anticipation that, like any retail store, would be willing to give 10% off when you buy more than one piece. They were willing to give 2% off the sticker price. She told them well, I’d be willing to buy if you give me 5% off. They said no, 2% is all we’re doing. So, she walked out. I was ready to purchase some new furniture from there as well. They’re not getting my business nor hers. What retail furniture store doesn’t give even a 5% discount on a multiple piece sale?? Good grief 🙄
