We had the pleasure to work with Gay Phillips, Interior Designer, at Knox Furniture Gallery, downtown Neenah, in November 2025. What started out as a call to see what furniture brands they offered, ended in so much more; an experience with much deeper purpose and meaning.
It began as a phone call to inquire about the brands of furniture they carried and to see what models they had on their sales floor. We wanted to be able to actually sit on the chairs and sofa/loveseat prior to purchasing. We had done a lot of online research and gone to other furniture stores prior so we knew what brands and styles we were most interested in.
On our first visit to the Knox Furniture Gallery, we were greeted upon entering and began looking throughout the store since Gay was with another client/customer. Once available, Gay assisted us with the furniture, answering our questions, and helping my spouse with coordinating the style, leather & fabric colors, with the current look in our house along with matching an area rug that we already have at home. As we were with Gay, Pete Knox stopped by to thank us for coming in and general conversation. Little did we know that this first visit would set up what is to follow.
One of the chair brands we were interested in they did not have on the sales floor. Pete offered to order the chair for us and told us if we did not like the chair once it arrived, we would not be required to purchase the chair. What store would do that, I thought. While we did not need this option, this was part of their special touches & service they provide.
We had multiple visits to Knox Furniture Gallery to continue to finalize our selections throughout the next couple of weeks of working with Gay; each time Pete would stop by and talk with us. He genuinely cared about us and our conversations were heartfelt and made us feel special. We got to know Gay & Pete very well in a short period of time and together, they made our experience one to remember.
Not once did they ask for a “sale” or put any pressure on us to make a decision, or even to convince us to purchase from Knox Furniture. It was customer service that far exceeded our expectations, but more importantly it was from the “heart”, part of the culture at Knox Furniture Gallery. They really cared about us; they took their time with us and so much more. It was professionalism at its core. By the time we finalized our furniture purchase, we felt a part of their family; something special we will never forget. It was like going back in time, somewhat nostalgic.
You see in life; you will sometimes never know how you touch someone or what you did will make a difference in someone’s life, but at Knox Furniture Gallery, we felt that something special, a difference, a culture of caring, and a family environment; and for that we will be ever grateful that we had the opportunity to purchase from Knox Furniture Gallery. The focus was on you as a person and giving us that “real” customer service that we all crave.
Gay was extremely helpful and professional. She provided outstanding input and helped to coordinate our needs. She returned emails in a timely fashion and provided us with exceptional service. She was very knowledgeable about the product lines and listened to our input. I would not hesitate to ask for Gay on your trip to Knox Furniture Gallery, you will not be disappointed.
If you are looking for high quality furniture from major manufacturers then look no further than Knox Furniture in downtown Neenah. It was our desire to shop local and we could not be happier with our decision and you will be too. It was a “WOW” experience, exceeding customer expectations by delivering a personable and memorable experience that goes above and beyond the normal…that is Knox Furniture Gallery.

They even told us of the best Italian place to eat (right next door). Oh, my goodness…the best food ever!! Thank you Bob! And Thank you, Gay for your knowledge and good design ideas.

We are so lucky we stumbled upon this absolute gem of a place! The entire experience was incredible. When we walked in, the staff showed us around but then gave us space on our own to browse and discuss. Then they answered all of our questions and then some. A few minutes later they had print outs of the perfect items for us! We ended up buying something they had right on the floor but are coming back for those other items. The experience was amazing, delivery... fantastic! The prices are so affordable - the quality is outstanding! So lucky the Fox Valley has a place with these options. We will be back

Our experience in May 2021 started out well with this company. All the people working there were very attentive and knowledgeable. We ordered a custom reclining leather sofa. We were told 3 months minimum which was fine. Lots of supply chain issues. But 3 months came and we had to call them. We were told 3 more months. And so it began. They lack basic communication skills once you have ordered, and you have to call in repeatedly, they never call you. When our sofa came 10 months after ordering, it was not the couch we ordered. Due to a clerical error they ordered the wrong style! We kept the sofa until they could get a replacement which meant we had a sofa not matching the style of the rest of the room for another 9 months! At one point my husband was told we couldn't have been inconvenienced as we had a sofa. Not once in this process were we offered a true apology. In fact, after the sofa was finally delivered we were sent a bill in the mail with no other writing. A written apology would have went a long way! We will never shop there again nor will we recommend them to others, quite the opposite.

We have recently purchased multiple pieces of furniture from Knox. The sales staff that we worked with were patient, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. The furniture that we received was of high quality and looks good in our home. Finally, their delivery service did a great job. Each time, they arrived within five minutes of the scheduled time (in fact, they were a few minutes early) and were careful and courteous. Great transactions all the way around!
