A1 Mattress

A-1 Mattress built us a pair of custom-shaped mattresses from our template for our Airstream trailer. The workmanship was top-notch, and the mattresses fit perfectly into their spaces! Raul was wonderful to work with and the mattresses were completed in less than a week! Highly recommend.

My family has been purchasing mattresses from A1 for many decades and have never been disappointed. The staff is always very helpful and knowledgeable. Their prices are lower than department stores and are excellent considering you are getting custom made work. Their fabrics and materials are always high quality. We have even taken them some department store ones to have them refurbished. My family (adult children) will continue to take our business to A1 Mattress always.

This is the best mattress I have ever slept on. I waited a year to write this review. I wanted to see if it would break down like most mattresses I’ve owned. I have slept on every type of mattress known to mankind. This mattress gives me the support I need for my lousy back without feeling like I’m sleeping on a rock. What I really appreciate is that I can sit on the edge of the bed and not slide off. The side of the mattress has just as much support as the middle of the bed. The mattress still feels as good as the day I bought it. My wife, who is smaller than me, loves the mattress.

A1 Mattress has been our go to for beds and now for pillows! All of our mattresses have been made by A1 Mattress and recently we tried their shredded natural latex pillows and we think they are awesome. They are the most comfortable pillows I have ever used and I don't have to worry about the old issues of buying pillows on sale only to be disappointed and deal with neck problems. They can be easily adjusted which helps to achieve that perfect sleep position.

The experience was like having a starring role in "Goldilocks and the Three Bears," with one of the bears hell-bent on selling me beachfront property in Kansas. Mattress #1: The owner had me try out a latex mattress in the store (factory). The one he had me order didn't, in any way, match the comfort of the mattress I tested. I got stuck with a too-firm mattress and it took a long time to do an exchange. This was after waiting a month to get it. There are no latex mattresses you can try out in the store, unless he happens to have a used one he can pawn off on you. Care to get bedbugs? Mattress #2: This was an exchange, but left my apartment immediately because the dimensions were off, the ticking looked as if it were fabricated from leftover, mismatched pieces. The stitching was coming apart on one side, contained the wrong type of foam, and none of the seams were taped. Mattress #3: Another exchange. It seemed okay when it arrived, except it didn't have the heavy, cotton twill ticking the owner had promised. It also had a couple of black, pea-sized stains on one side. I was desperate to sleep on something more comfortable, so I agreed to keep it. At about 3:00 a.m., I was awakened by a strong chemical odor (apparently, activated by my body heat). It smelled like formaldehyde. The fumes were so intense that I soon removed it from the bedroom, covered it with plastic sheeting, and opened my windows. I had to wait two weeks before I could get the company to remove it and offer a refund. Thoughts to Ponder: * None of the mattresses had a legally-required label attached. Ticking material was one-sided (synthetic, stiff material on other side). * Owner is frequently out of town and you'll have to wait to resolve any problem. * Warranty covers "materials and workmanship" (no detailed contract). * If it begins raining just before delivery, you'll have to reschedule. * All latex mattresses are custom manufactured. * I wasted about three and a half months trying to buy a mattress.
