Paid for parking late on Saturday night at this business. Came out to find a $104 extortion notice and car lock on my girlfriend’s truck. Had to pay to get the code to get her truck, and then they told us by their automated system to return their lock or face additional fees. So, we returned their lock to their front door as there was nowhere else we could find to return it. If you want to unlock your doors like we unlocked our truck, call your company and pay up.

Artiful lodger seriously needs to look into the parking troubles in the evening. Form my understanding it is a separate entity but that they know of them and can fix this. There is a taggr solution business happening at night that is scamming people. I parked there for 1 hour and my car was tagged and I had to provide personal information via a QR code and input my credit card information in order to get a tag off my tire to drive $104. I’m a woman alone at night and a drunk man was following me I quickly inputted my information to get the tag off and left it in front of the parking space. To which my credit card was charged an ADDITIONAL $75! It said I stole the tag bc I didn’t return it to a special bin that was not explicitly labeled or said anywhere I left the tag and they recollected it to tag someone’s car yet they charged me this ridiculous fee. It was in the terms and conditions I had to accept in order to pay which how could I read that and know when I have a man following me when I’m alone and trying to safely drive home. Completely and utterly unfair and ridiculous I worked very hard for my money and have may bills to pay just like everyone and to charge a young adult and absurd amount of money is quite frankly unfair. An insane amount for a parking ticket. The signage is incorrect and quite small. Please get this taken care of it makes the company look bad despite it not being your fault. I’m completely devastated at this $200 I’m out of now

Caroline and Chris are creative merchandisers, imaginative designers, and their white glove service is unparalleled. I’m sorry they’re leaving Cville for the hinterlands, Zions Cross Roads.

Under pain of death I would not come here again. For literal years this lot has been free parking for the pedestrian mall. Do I understand the fact that that parking lot is prime real estate and charging parking fees would be fair? Of course I do, I’m not dumb. But only an absolutely unscrupulous heathen would intentionally not put up any more extra signage AT ALL telling people that something has changed and instead just boot people’s cars. Now given all of this, I wouldn’t even be complaining if it were a small fee, maybe $20-$50. THIS FEE WAS $100. That’s more than half of the price you would pay if you had your car TOWED. I also understand that Artful Lodger may not be the entity behind this disgrace, but whoever is running this, you are disgusting. Charlottesville is a city full of college students and young adults whom a $100 fee would impact severely, and your intentional lack of signage and vigorous booting of cars is an obvious attempt to prey on those people. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Artful Lodger, please have the integrity to do something about this.
