Bear’s Mattress 1st was a breath of fresh air after a disappointing experience with Sleep Number. My husband and I set out to find the perfect mattress in November. The goals were to reduce back pain, reduce shoulder pain, sleep deeper without waking through the night, minimize motion transfer from side to side and fix the issue of a sleeping on a slant with the large weight difference of my husband versus myself. Other factors such as guarantee of durability and no sagging over time also mattered to us. Shortly after purchasing a sleep number, thinking it would be the answer, my husband began having extreme back pain, feeling as if he was sleeping on a hammock. I didn’t mind the bed but honestly it did feel like an upscale camping mattress. We knew we had to return it and began our search again. The customer service at Bear’s was beyond excellent! Michael paid close attention to our needs and went out of his way to help us choose the perfect mattress. He patiently handled each visit to the store as if I was the only customer and gave th best customer service. Furthermore, Michael helped us to find the best price and guarantees to make us feel secure in our purchase of the Beauty Rest Black Series 3. He even arranged to have the mattress delivered the same day as our sleep number was getting returned. The delivery drivers spoke English, came with a winter equipped truck, and were polite and accommodating. My entire experience with Bear’s Matteess 1st was top notch and I only wish I had just started there in the first place. Highly Reccomend!

What a great place to buy a new mattress. Michael (the store manager) greeted us as soon as we walked in and asked us for just a moment as he was helping another customer who had just bought a mattress and was loading it into a pick up truck. When he returned it was really a great experience. He asked us a few questions as to what we were looking for and had us try out a mattress. After trying one, he asked us a few more questions as to what we liked, didn't like, our sleeping habits etc. The new mattress he had us try was the one! In all the conversations he was very knowledgeable and professional with us and we never felt pressured the entire visit. He was very good at explaining the mattress types and what made them different or better than others, showing us the different coils and things. My wife and I really enjoyed the shopping visit. He than went over the sales receipt and the warranty with us explaining everything in detail. After that we set up the delivery date. Michael did a really great job and was a great person to deal with! 11-15-25 update: I just wanted to add more to this review. As you seen above the purchasing was great. Now I want to say the deliver was also great. Both deliverymen were excellent. They were very careful, professional and friendly in delivering the mattress. This helped make it a totally great purchase! Thank You.

After our Great Dane decided she needed to pull the sheets up and tear into our 3 year old mattress again, we decided it’s time for a new one. Michael at Bears in Meadville was an amazing help and was very knowledgeable when it came to choosing the mattress best for us. Michael was very attentive with my wife, having her try as many models as she needed to. He was very knowledgeable. I worked with Brian and he also was very knowledgeable about the products offered. No pressures to make a purchase. We both would recommend Bear's Furniture to everyone!
