I needed to purchase a washing machine and dryer for my wife's house. I live in Tennessee. The plan was to make the purchase, set a delivery date, then drive home to Tennessee. I entered Root's Hometown Furniture and Appliances right after they opened up. I was greeted by Colleen who right away asked me if I needed assistance. I told her what I wanted to purchase. She immediately took me over to the washer and dryer area where I pointed out the 2 items I wanted to purchase. We proceded to her desk where she attempted to process the purchase however the computer system was glitching. She calmly explained that it would be possible to purchase with a hand written invoice but I think we both wanted the electronic invoice. The computer glitch cleared a short time later. While this process was going on, RJ said they were no deliveries scheduled that morning and he could deliver the washer and dryer as soon as they loaded them on their delivery truck If that would work for me. It worked great. I finished the purchase with Colleen and I headed back to my wife's house. RJ and Issac arrived at the house a short time later. They were careful and professional in moving and installing the washer and dryer. They even swapped the door on the dryer from left to right side open for us. I have to say that Colleen, RJ and Issac were absolutely professional and went above and beyond. They are a credit to Root's Hometown. Living in the Memphis area, I am not used to the level of professionalism and possitive attitude they all showed. I spoke to Mr. Root by phone after the install was completed with my compliments. He explained this a true family business with members of his immediate and extended family working there. I highly recommend Roots Hometown where you will find friendly, professional folks selling appliances at great prices. Definitely impressed. It was absolutely worth the hour drive.

I’ve had no problems with them. Always kind and helpful. I’m currently going through a struggle after maternity leave and they are working with me. I will always go to roots if I need an appliance or couch or bed.

If you buy brand new stove for almost $1000.00 and the heating elements don't work properly, Roots does not fix it for you!! I used my oven after a week and found its not heating properly and it hasn't even been two weeks , and they won't come fix it!! What a let down!! I will NEVER buy from them again!!!!! Why would I want fake help!! I will help myself!! I don't act one way and treat people an other way!!!! I will not ever return to your store!! I'm going to keep my stove because,I cannot even return it after two weeks!! BAD businesss.....goodbye,SIR!!! NEVER spend your hard earned money on a small business that takes pride in this type of situation!! I don't want anything to do with you!!!you tried to call but I wiped my hands and dusted my feet....

TLDR **Unacceptable business practices. I was warned to not buy from here before I did and I ignored it. Now here I am warning you all. You can safely ignore most of the 5 star reviews here because of the promos they do inhouse. The customer service is okay and the prices are way to high, but there is limited options and they know it.** When I made my purchase; I set it up to get delivered and they were going to assemble it, this all was in our agreement and paid extra for it. The next day they called me and told me it would be several weeks before they could deliver my stuff (3 to 8 weeks). I asked for a refund since they couldn't deliver on what was agreed upon (was the reason I made the purchase because I didn't have a truck or the time to assemble, so I wanted to find someone who could.) and they said no. When I pressed because I planned my situation according to our agreement, I was told there were no other option. No refund and it "will get delivered when it gets delivered". I had to rent a uhaul to go get my stuff and they didn't help me load it after saying they would on the phone.. At this point one of the ladies that work here has cussed me out already and they have went back on 3 agreements (the delivery, assembly and on the phone I was told they would help me load it into my truck when I had to come pick it up). After 3 Months the Bed Set I bought started falling apart (Young and single, but 3 Months is still unacceptable for the price I paid and the Dresser and nightstands were missing hardware that they blamed on me. I offered to buy spares if they had any and was told no. I asked if they had the contact for the manufacturer so I could call them to get the hardware and got hung up on again. Skip ahead a few years and they contact me saying I still owe money. Not thinking I give them like $1,000 give or take but then I have a vague memory of paying this off so I call to see if I can get the original bill and payment history. They again told me no and hung up on me (I really hate being hung up on and at this point they have hung up on me every time we spoke on the phone. Instead of giving me the bill and payment history the decided to filed to garnish my pay at work. I wasn't told about the court date or anything. My lawyer says that that isn't uncommon, but with specific detail of what happened, to let it happen so we can hit them harder in small claims.. So fingers crossed.

Fair prices super service will recommend Roots to anyone. They go out of their way to help.
