We purchased a Porter three piece couch and recliner November 29,2025 and absolutely love it. Our salesman Mr. John Warth was incredible, with 30 years experience he was extremely knowledgeable and guided us in our selection of what we were looking for without any pressure whatsoever. He gave us many samples of materials and color swatches to take home and decide what fabric and color combinations worked for our den. We can’t say enough good things about Schmitt Furniture and Mr. John Warth except we will be back!

Louie Schmitt, and his son Zack Schmitt, are carrying on the fine reputation and tradition of their family's store in New Albany, and it is a rare gem in this era of online and big box stores! Joanna Roe is much more than a saleswoman. Joanna's expertise regarding interior design, knowledge of all products, and her lovely manner made each of our purchases pleasurable and easy from start to finish!
On the fulfillment side, the team at Schmitt Furniture kept us informed about the expected finishing dates of our customized pieces, and coordinated delivery times that worked with our schedule. The delivery teams were so respectful, kind, and mindful of our flooring and other furnishings in our home. If we should ever have an issue with our furniture in the future, Schmitt's "furniture doctors" will be available to help. You can't find that level of continued service very often!
This kind of all-encompassing service, provided by a real family-owned business that truly cares about their customers, is a breath of fresh air!

We saw their advertisement on tv and decided to make the trip from Anchorage Kentucky to their showroom. We were looking for two leather recliners. Upon entering the showroom, we were greeted by John Warth. One of the sales people. We learned that he has been there over 30 years. The walking encyclopedia of knowledge of their inventory, the placement of that inventory and everything you needed to know about the product!!! So friendly, so knowledgeable! He was God sent!!! We told him we were there for recliners. Immediately took us to their massive inventory of recliners. He knew every price, every maker, every fabric/ leather. John was amazing!! No pressure; gave us his full attention, and all the time to checkout the store. A sale had just started today!! Found our recliners, grrrreat price! Delivery set up in just a few days. If you need furniture….any room… you MUST CHECK OUT THEIR SHOWROOM! He said they have been in business since the 1930’s…. I understand how and why!!! They know what they are doing!! Customer service perfection- grrrrreat inventory! We will definitely be going back, so John we will be searching you out.

Our recent furniture shopping experience was worth a great review. We had the best luck to work with Jo Roe. She was very knowledgeable about the products, shipping, and features of the various furniture pieces we looked at. She was always available for our questions but left us to review and regroup on our decisions. Schmitt Furniture stands behind their furniture and sells quality pieces. Ask for Jo when you visit the showroom!

Schmitt Furniture was recommended to me by a friend who has had her sofa for years, and it still looks great. My previous sofa from another retailer did not last even two years before looking tired and worn, so I decided to try Schmitt instead. My salesperson was very knowledgeable in the different brands sold by Schmitt Furniture, telling me all about the types of springs used and different warranties included or offered in addition to them. He was also very patient while my family and I tried every sofa in the store and poured over the many fabric options. I was able to get my new sofa delivered in just over a week, as I ended up buying one of the sales floor models. The delivery guys were very professional, making sure they covered the doorway and floors where they were moving my sofa. Customer service was on the phone before the delivery men left to ensure that I was happy with the product, and I am. Schmitt Furniture is family-owned and local, I will continue to shop here for my furniture needs.
