I came into Slumberland on Sunday April 12th to look at and purchase a reclining sofa for my new home in Brewster, 6 miles away. It was advertised online for their spring sale at $599.99. In store it was tagged at $799.99 and we showed the salesman the online item with the sale price and he grudgingly accepted it. We asked about delivery charges for 6 miles away. We were told unassembled would cost $100 and assembled would be $189.99. Seemed pretty ridiculous to me but with moving and other things going on I agreed to purchase with full service delivery. After the fact I saw on the website FOR THEIR STORE that unassembled delivery was advertised as FREE. This led me to call Chad the store manager the next day, thinking we were lied to about full delivery cost. Chad told me that despite saying free local delivery on their website that it would typically cost $75 DEPENDING ON THE SALESPERSON and that you could NEGOTIATE for the free shipping and that the full service delivery was $190 but you could NEGOTIATE with some salespeople for $100. Our salesman, Bape, told us $100 for unassembled delivery and also lied to us about the end date of the sale price they currently had. VERY rude salesman and my phone call with Chad the manager was very little better. I ended up canceling my purchase and going to Runes furniture and am getting the same couch with full service delivery and WAY WAY better attitude for almost $100 less. I will NEVER buy anything else from Slumberland in Worthington!!!
