Farmers Home Furniture

I went in to purchase a couch. I have perfect credit and there was an advertisement, 12 months same as cash. I could have put this immediately on a credit card or purchased as cash. Since the purchase was not planned in advance as our old couch broke, I wanted to take advantage of the 12 month same as cash. I applied on my lunch and told them I could finish after work. The manager said, that they were almost finished. She told me first payment due in July. I had to rush to get back to work. I reviewed my paperwork , once I got back to the office. The price on the couch was $1,199.00. On the paperwork with out asking me, they added a 2 year warranty for about $150.00, $69.00 fabric protection, delivery charge also around $150.00, life insurance, disability insurance, unemployment insurance, of couse taxes. The final amount 1,899.00 roughly. Financing was 23.99%. It showed over 2 years was going to be $2,299.00. The next day I went in and inquired why everything was added on without asking me. I canceled the credit line and added only the delivery charge and fabric protection. I was told all the extra insurances were required for financing. I just decided to pay cash which saved $700.00, roughly. I told my husband and he told me you should have just cancelled the whole thing. I went ahead with the purchase as I had been to 5 furniture stores and that was the couch I wanted. He worried how it was going to go from there. He said they may try to give me the floor, display model. Well I was working when it was to be delivered. My adult children were home. I get a phone call from my daughter who told me the delivery driver was concerned and wanted to make sure that I had approved the display floor model and it was “As Is”, with stains. She told the driver no, I did not want the display. She handed him the phone to talk to me. He pleasantly agreed to take that one back to the store and get me a new one from the warehouse. He brought a new one to me and I was satisfied. The thing is though the manager was mad that I canceled the financing and paid straight cash. I have a choice not to accept that financing and floor display model. Everyone does not have the credit of financial situation to turn it around to their favor. Because I had good credit and cash to pay I was able to firmly say no. Everyone is not that fortunate and will likely get screwed over by their business practices. KUDOS to the delivery driver who knew to question the delivery of the floor , as is product. The 2 stars are for the delivery driver as the manager was terrible.

Tabitha was very helpful, and our go to for all our home furniture and appliance needs. She is exceptional!!!! The delivery men were very friendly and courteous as well. They also did a wonderful job installing our washer and couch. 💯
