I’ve passed this Ollie’s Bargain Outlet in Rockingham what seems like a million times but never stopped in until I was shopping for some Christmas presents. I was pleasantly surprised by the large variety of items throughout the store. Some areas were a bit messy, while others—like the book section—were neat and well organized. One thing that really stood out to me was the Black representation in the children’s books. That was a huge plus and something I truly appreciated! The prices are great, and I found some really interesting books. I picked up a cool Black Panther children’s book and absolutely loved the illustrations in the book Santa’s Gotta Go. I also got a really good laugh flipping through Tracy Morgan’s cookbook. Years ago, I read his story in AARP that highlighted his resilience after his vehicular accident, so seeing his book caught my attention. When I looked through the pages, it was laugh after laugh. Customer service could definitely be improved, and a little more organization in some areas would make the shopping experience even better. Overall, though, the prices and variety make it worth stopping in. With better organization and friendlier customer service, this store could easily be a five-star experience.
