Spencer's Ventura Mattress

After 3 failed attempts at finding a comfortable mattress and subsequently educating myself on what makes a quality mattress, I found Spencer’s YouTube channel and watched all the vids and really got a lot out of the build and tear down videos. I drove up from LA to check out the mattresses for myself and was quite impressed. After dealing with a couple returns, I went up to make my decision and went with the Loving Sleep Plush and am super stoked I finally found “the one”. I want to thank Jim for all the time he spent helping me including actually delivering it. These are good people helping people indeed.

Spencer’s Ventura Mattresses is a fantastic place to buy a bed. Especially if you are wanting a custom size for a really great deal. You would be shocked at how cheap it is to make the bed a little bit wider and or a little bit longer. Which is great if you’re fighting with your loved one, or hated one (lol), on which person is on the other person‘s half of the bed. Plus when you’re as tall as I am, you don’t want your feet hanging off the bed! I never leave reviews but I do read them and you all know how ignorant some of them can be. It is a long one, but I think it’ll be worth the read. Obviously the big box stores won’t even make a custom bed, but that is not the case at Spencer‘s. I am 6‘4” and 300 pounds and I’m tired of $3,000 to $6,000 for a bed that just doesn’t last because the springs wear out. I have tried top of the line Tempurpedic beds (there was no support for my lower back and I could barely walk 2 months later) and I tried the generic ones, (too much foam, same thing). The best bed for me personally is a good spring bed with 2 inches of pillow top and Simmons used to make them where they would last 10 years then it dropped down to about a year if you were lucky and then they found a way around the warranty. The only minor complaints I had was the salesman kind of rushed me through things, but then I personally got to talk to Spencer on the phone and I know because like most of you I saw and heard his YouTube videos and I knew his voice. He tried to rush me a little bit, but as a small business owner myself, I know how busy we get and you tend to rush. Also like my own website, I think there’s could use a little work and explain things a little bit better and the customization limits need changed because he said I could make it as big as I wanted to but the website would not allow. But those things are pretty minor. Let’s face it, how often do you get to talk to the owner, and I told him how big and tall I was, and he told me I needed the heavy duty Texas coils (not on website) that nobody uses anymore and he understood what I wanted and what I needed. He gave me his personal opinion, his personal time and designed a fantastic bed. I was actually gonna wait until I got my new house built before I bought such an awesome custom bed but when I saw how reasonable the price was, I went ahead and ordered one that day. I was just gonna buy one with a custom size but then I said the hell with it and got the one with the heavier duty Texas coils, pillow tops on both sides, one side a little bit softer, and the other side a little firmer, just in case we didn’t like one side. So the bed is actually reversible so it will last even longer and It has been so comfortable I haven’t even flipped it yet. Plus I probably need about four people to help me flip it! My bed is 84“ x 90“ which is 7‘ x 7 1/2‘ for those of you wondering. I probably should’ve mentioned that at the beginning, but hopefully you read to the end! I know you’re thinking this bed is probably $8,000 - $10,000 or more, which is what most of them are and what I thought it would be. But, I think I paid about $6500 and he was nice enough to split the shipping cost with me because they couldn’t fold it and it was more expensive. Also, if you don’t like it, instead of wasting the cost to ship it back and them throwing it away or reselling as used or open box, you can donate it to a local charity and they will pay a 100% of the cost, which is awesome of them! Last thing, watch the videos about this company and Spencer, where he trained, and about his history. It’s just awesome to see people that take pride in what they do and that they are more worried about their craftsmanship than making a profit. These guys are true craftsman, you can tell he trains his employees well and it’s just cool to see people living the American dream and making the world great by allowing working people to sleep on a quality mattress, get a great night sleep, to get up and perform their craft!

The absolute best of the best. Spencer, Jimmy, and Franklin are a breath of fresh air in an industry that is, unfortunately, very opaque and not consumer-friendly. I’ve purchased three mattresses from Spencer and will never go elsewhere for my mattress needs. They’re incredibly honest, build their mattresses the right way using quality materials, and actually care about their customers and whether they’re sleeping well. If you haven’t already, I’d highly recommend watching Spencer’s YouTube channel to see how they build their mattresses, which I consider works of art.

I recently purchased an Integrity Doctors Care mattress to replace a 5 year old Ikea model. Wow! What a difference. Spencer has been great in communicating and helping me to get the latex thickness and density dialed in. I really couldn’t be happier and would recommend purchasing from here to anyone! My huskies love it too!

Our experience with Spencer's Mattress has been phenomenal. Great, attentive service from Jim and Spencer from the start, with lots of information to help narrow down the search for the perfect mattress. Beautiful serene store to walk through with big windows into their workshop where you can see all the materials that go into making the mattresses. We purchased the Doctor's Care Luxury Plush in a King size. Absolutely amazing comfort. We like the technology and ability to change out the top layer if our firmness/plush preferences change in the future. We have had our mattress for about 2 months now and it is as great as it was the first night. My mother has had a mattress (diff style) from Spencer's for the last 6 years and is pleased that its still the quality feel as it was when she purchased it. Before we got this mattress, we struggled to get a good night's rest. I tossed and turned all night (waking up my partner in the process) and woke up sore and tired. We both get deep sleep and my back pain is gone. This bed has suited our sleep styles well - my husband is a back and side sleeper while i like to sleep back/stomach/sides. A high quality mattress has been the best investment we have made for our health and wellness and we like that we have a product that will last a long time so we don't have to shop for another mattress in a few years.
