The Old Cannery Furniture Warehouse

I suppose this is really more of a review on Adam and not so much the store itself. While we love the cannery and are happy with our products, the real gem of our trip down was Adam. There we were attempting to store the leaf of the first dining room set we looked at and up walks Adam asking if we needed anything. We were caught, the leaf was turned upside down, after he instructed us on proper storage we invited him to sit and chat with us and he quickly figured out the type of people we are and what we needed. Within an hour he directed us to the exact pieces we were looking for. A beautiful walnut six seat dining set, a sumptuous Italian leather couch, and the most comfortable bar stools we could have asked for. There was even time for fudge with how efficient he was. What would have taken us hours to find on our own took 1/3 of the time. Plus we had some lovely games, have him take you to the fabric samples and he will tell you the name of the sample based on color and fabric type alone. We will be back and can’t wait to hang out some more.

I was scheduled for abdominal surgery, exactly 13 months to the day from my shoulder surgery. I still go to PT sessions as I work to get back up to speed. When I had my hip and knee replacements I was at Ray’s mercy to remember to come and take care of me, which meant I was in crisis and at critical mass before he thought I might need his assistance. This time, on the recommendation of a good friend, I sucked up my pride and decided to look at and possibly purchase a lift chair. That way I would not need any assistance. Ray and I had been to The Old Cannery before. I can’t remember if we ever purchased furniture from them but it was worth the road trip. The store is an old cannery warehouse in summer. The place is huge!!! They carry furniture to outfit every room in your house AND outside. Going there is a real adventure. They have all kinds of displays, train setups, snack bar and wonderful fudge. Our salesman had worked for the company for over 20 years. He was attentive, patient, answered all of our questions and set us up so we could “test drive” every chair. We had walked in on the last day of their Christmas sale so it was hard to say no. We finally decided on and purchased a chair for each of us. Ray will be going in for back surgery so he is going to need a lift chair too. We scored a great deal and went back the next day with our pickup to pick them up and bring them home. My surgery was 2 days later. Everything worked out well with literally no time to spare. As much as I hate to say it, a lift chair really did make all of the difference in the world. Considering the number of surgical procedures I have had since I was rear ended, a lift chair really would have helped.

Ive driven by many times, but stopped for my first time last week. A wide variety of furniture, plenty of ideas to help you decorate, and be sure to look up to see the train. I didn't take any furniture home, but I did take home the fudge.
