I really hoped for better. We purchased a small cafe table with four stools for our kitchen from the Cadillac location. The price was very reasonable but it was nothing fancy either. Immediately the veneer on the top began to bubble. I contacted the store and while the manufacturer tried to say it was our fault and refused to honor their warranty, the store owner did agree to a one time replacement. We appreciated this very much. Now about a year later the top has begun to split and the weld that attaches one of the stool legs has broken. Even though this set was only a few hundred dollars versus thousands, we expected it be better than just disposable. Van Drie has been around since I was a kid. I trusted them. I won't anymore. Affordable shouldn't have to mean garbage.I wasn't able to add an additional picture but just noticed the weld on another leg is breaking. We rarely even sit on these stools!

First and foremost, we are very happy with our coffee table. Unfortunately, we were not happy with the customer service.
We stopped into VanDrie on a Saturday afternoon looking for a new coffee table. We found one we liked, and the salesperson told us they had one in the warehouse. We left for about 15 minutes to check another furniture store, then returned and told the same salesperson we wanted to buy it.
At that point, the story changed. We were told the table wasn’t actually in the Traverse City warehouse, but that one was available in Cadillac and could be transferred to Traverse City by the following Friday. Reluctantly, we agreed. Before leaving, I specifically asked if the table would be assembled and ready for pickup. I was told yes. I also let the salesperson know we planned to pick it up on Monday, July 6.
On Friday, I received a phone call confirming the table had arrived in Traverse City. Once again, I asked if it would be assembled and ready to go. Again, I was told yes.
When I arrived Monday evening to pick it up, the warehouse employee walked me over to a completely unopened box. It had not been assembled at all. He checked the paperwork and showed me there was no note instructing the warehouse to assemble it. This clearly wasn’t the warehouse employee’s fault—it was a breakdown in communication by the salesperson.
The warehouse employee was very apologetic and even offered to assemble it, but it wouldn’t have been ready until the following day. Unfortunately, we already had plans every evening that week, so Monday was our only opportunity to pick it up. Our only options were to take it home unassembled or wait another week.
In the end, we’re very pleased with the quality of the table itself. However, being told multiple times that it would be assembled and ready for pickup—only to arrive and find it still sealed in the box—was extremely frustrating. A little better communication and follow-through would have made this a much better experience.

Great selection with many items in stock for quick availability. High quality products with brands like England and Ashley. Custom fabrics are possible in just four weeks. We have purchased from VanDrie in Traverse City several times. Delivery experience has been positive as well. I definitely recommend!

The owner asked if I would give them a try again. After losing over $2,000 because he wouldn’t refund my total purchase on furniture that I only had 3 months, why would I ever purchase another product from this store. Please reference two FB groups La-z-boy dissatisfied customers and La-z-boy sucks to see how bad their products are. The only way I would ever buy something again from VanDrie is if I received something in writing that states they will honor the warranty even if the mfg doesn’t.
added photos - note first pic is from la-z-boy stating it should last a lifetime. 2nd pic is headrest fading after 3-mths when it’s supposed to be warranted a year.
Although the salesperson was sympathetic to our complaints on our new La-Z-Boy leather couch and recliner purchase, we only had it a 3-4 mths and Vandrie/owner would only refund 70% of the money we paid saying that La-Z-Boy wouldn’t do anything - We did our purchase thru VanDrie so seems the owner should stand by the product they are selling.
I will never buy another leather la-z-boy recliner or couch - it’s absolute junk - after less than 3 mths the color was already fading - headrests, arms etc.
- be very careful as it’s not dyed all the way thru so any small infraction will cause a mark. VanDrie had to replace both the couch and recliner upon delivery as it was so marked up - I assumed they just messed up
the delivery but now know why as the quality is so poor.
I opened a ticket with La-Z boy and although it’s warranted for a year - they would not do anything.

I did get 70% of my money back from VanDrie we but on a significant puchase it was a lot lost for the few mths we had it.
We just ordered a flex steel from somewhere else as based on reviews it appears to be much better quality.
Hoping La-Z-Boy gets back to the quality they once had and that Vandrie/owner will also honor warranties even if La-Z-Boy won’t.

Athena made our experience so easy and fun! We were impressed with the selection and prices, as well as the lack of pressure from the sales floor people. She was available, but not hovering, and helped us find exactly what we were looking for.
