My wife and I have been looking for a new mattress for a while. We tried a mattress from a different nationally named mattress company but the mattress did not work for us and had a flaw. We looked online for what was rated as a good mattress and found three that were rated well in several categories as well as having won several awards for their quality. We found the Mattress Central on Overton Ridge handled the three mattress we were interested in. We went there and was greeted by Ray. He was helpful and knowledgeable of not only the three we were considering but had a vast experience with many of the usual name brand mattress. We settled on one mattress with his helpful advice. We left without buying anything to check on another mattress option nearby which was not sold at Mattress Central. Ray did not pressure us or use any of the old and annoying sales practices. He let us make up our minds as to what was best for us.
We went to the other nationally recognized mattress store and found their mattress not as comfortable as the one we had chosen at Mattress Central. We had lunch and went over our options. We returned to Mattress Central and had another pleasant conversation with Ray. We purchased the same mattress we had looked at earlier. The process of purchasing the bed and base was easy and pleasant thanks to Ray.
We purchased the Helix Midnight Elite and are looking forward to it being delivered.

Great customer service and super friendly salesman by the name of Ray! He took great care of us and took as much time as we needed to find the perfect mattress. Will buy again and recommend this place to anyone in the market for a top of the line sleep experience!

I’m extremely happy with my helix mattress. It’s the perfect balance between soft and firm, provides great back support.The quality is excellent and it feels very durable. Thanks to Ray for walking me through this process and definitely super knowledgeable about everything they carry.

I purchased a mattress here and so far it has been a good experience. The salesman did a great job helping me find what I wanted and as other reviews mention, no pressure sales which is appreciated. We are still adjusting to the mattress and I believe it is a keeper- they are correct you do need to sleep on them to really know so the try out period is very important. And that is the issue for me why I did not give 5 stars- if you should have an issue they do not provide refunds only exchange and they are not fully transparent about this issue. They tell you no worries you have 30 days but really need to be more specific as to what that means as I purchased believing they had a 30 day guarantee- which to me meant REFUND if needed. But it does not. And the store did not have a printer to print a full invoice (how is that?), only provided a tiny credit card receipt and I only saw the disclaimer on the invoice once I got home and got the emailed invoice. The invoice stated ALL SALES FINAL, and the 30 day guarantee is only for EXCHANGE. No refunds. Also a very important issue is that the store does not honor manufacturer policies- the Helix mattresses if purchased direct from the manufacturer have a 30 RETURN for REFUND policy and a famous 100 Night Sleep Trial for exchange.Also very important is Mattress Central's website indicates in several places more than 30 day exchanges which are blatantly not true. the home page scrolls a white banner that actually says, 100-Night Trial. But they do not offer 100 night trials. It also states on another page that they offer a '90 night comfort trial which is not true either. So that is false advertising and could potentially be very important information. In the FAQs on the website regarding returns/refunds it states, "Many retailers offer trial periods that allow you to test the mattress for a specified duration...." but they ARE the RETAILERS, these are their stores! But they word it like each location gets to set their own rules. Buyers need to be aware of this. Thankfully so far we are looking good on our purchase so hopefully it will not be an issue. This is a credit to the quality products they offer and great sales people that do a good job helping you select your mattress. And if that isn't enough the salesman mentioned something regarding a fee being involved if you did need the exchange/return. So I will think twice before purchasing the second mattress here for these reasons- if you were to have a problem you will not be getting a refund, you may be paying a fee for an exchange and you better contact them BEFORE the 30 days is up because the 90 day/100 night stuff on the website is false advertising. And these are apparently company policies so really not fair to the great sales staff they have, I would have loved to get my second mattress from the same guy but just in case it were to not work out, the return policies will prevent me buying there again.

Look, while mattress shopping can be overwhelming, it certainly doesn’t have to be.
I’m not going to mince words and I’m giving you the keys to make this process easier because this is only going to be as stressful as YOU make it out to be. I’m literally giving a cheat sheet. Unless another mattress store has a specific brand you want that this one doesn’t, I don’t see why you’d want to go anywhere else.
This was my first time buying a mattress and before coming to Mattress Central, I tired a big box store online only to feel pretty wrong about my purchase and I canceled my order. Half of my order couldn’t be refunded leaving me with a new frame/headboard for this new mattress that I apparently couldn’t deny even though I didn’t want any of my original order anymore. It took persistence, grit and a hefty amount of attitude on my part and speaking to 3 different agents until I was able to be granted the full refund for the furniture and mattress. Talk about stress because that was $11,000 down the hole. I’m looking @ you, Sleep Number😒
After that experience, I still wanted a new mattress but I decided to do it in person this time and I’m grateful I did. I’m even more grateful I did it with a family owned business.
I did a little research on brands beforehand, narrowed it down to like 3 that I truly wanted and got my heart set on Stearns & Foster.
I met Ray, beelined straight for the S&F mattress, fell in love, bought it immediately, and it was delivered the next day.
It was *literally* that smooth, straightforward, and simple. I’m a sleep-deprived, nightshift nurse and I don’t have time for BS. I would purchase from Mattress Central again and again but with this luxury bed, I won’t have to for quite some time. A mattress like this *is* an investment and it’s technically something I can’t even afford up front but it pays for itself over the lifespan it’s supposed to have and I don’t dread going to bed anymore and climbing onto a mediocre mattress that got me no real rest.
Ray was lovely to work with, there was absolutely no pressure to buy anything if I didn’t want and the guys who delivered it the next day were so nice, chill, and it was set up FAST so I could continue going about my day. I have zero regrets.
