I very rarely leave reviews, but I just had a fantastic experience buying a mattress at Mattress Discount in Southgate, and wanted to share it so other folks who have to undergo the foreign experience of buying a mattress will have some direction. Walking into any store selling high-ticket items like furniture and mattresses, I fully expected to get the slick, high-pressure hard sell from the salespeople. And indeed, prior to walking into Mattress Discount, I went to two other stores where I had exactly that awful experience. But Earl, Sean, and Dawn at Mattress Discount treated me like an old friend, educated me on elements like firmness and comfort, told me the (VERY REASONABLE) price, and left me to decide if I wished to buy or not—NO STRONG-ARMING, NO HARD SELL!!! I decided to wait just a few more weeks after my initial visit to see if there might be any Black Friday deals, and indeed, the price of the mattress I wanted was even LOWER on Black Friday than it’s already very reasonable price. I asked what the delivery charge was, and they delivered to my house WITHIN AN HOUR and installed it right on my frame for less than $20!!! Overall, I could not have asked for a better experience , and the mattress Earl sold me at such a good price is VERY comfortable and high quality! I know I’ll be sleeping better for years now! If you’re dreading shopping for a mattress like I did, run, don’t walk to Earl, Sean, and Dawn at Mattress Discount in Southgate. You’ll be super glad you did, and you won’t be treated like PREY…you’ll be treated like family. Thanks Earl!

I truly cannot praise enough the fantastic customer service, selection, low price, and the quality mattress enough! The selection of affordable mattresses had great options, the price was the best part. I saved 1,500 by going to this family owned business, instead of Mattress firm. While still getting quality, comfort, and the mattress of my choosing. The mattress has held up great with no complaints, still comfortable and good quality will last a long time. I sleep soundly and the bed doesn't hurt my back. The friendly service was a big bonus, very polite and helpful. My fiance and I walked in one day to look, we meet the owner of the business running the desk. He was kind, showed us the store. He didn't try to up sale us or talk us into buying something expensive, he knew we are a young couple on a tight budget. He said he's a father and grandfather, he wouldn't sell us something we couldn't afford. He explained what bed we should look for, and he only showed us beds within our price range. It was so refreshing and nice, no sales person shoving expensive stuff down your throat you can't afford and don't want. Just a kind business owner actually being helpful. We didn't buy that day, but we came back another day. His son was working this time and helped us, he was also wonderful to work with. He was informative about the paperwork and delivery, he also had a good sense of humor. They bundled the delivery service into the price of buying the bed and box spring, so no hidden fees. The son gave us some parts for the bed frame for free, which was really kind and generous. Please give this place your business, it deserves it the most. You are helping a small business, a family owned business that gives back to the community and cares about the customers. I really cannot express enough my gratitude or appreciation for the great experience and help. Thank you for helping a young couple who desperately needed a new bed, but didn't have a lot of money. It's good that good people still exist.
View on GoogleI recently had the pleasure of shopping at Mattress Discount, and I can't recommend them enough! From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly personable and welcoming. Earl who helped us was very knowledgeable about the futons we were interested in and took the time to ensure we found exactly what we were looking for—without being pushy at all (which is our biggest pet peeve). It was clear that this is a family-owned business that truly cares about its customers and products they offer. We left our house, and within just hours, we found the perfect futon and had it delivered straight to our door. This experience was seamless and stress-free, and I’ll definitely be back for future purchases. Highly recommend, and will definitely be back for further purchases!
