Mattress Express Syracuse

My wife and I have been looking for a new bed for a while that would help support our bodies after long days at work to relieve pressure on our back and neck. We stopped into the mattress express in Rome NY not thinking we would walk out with a bed purchase. As soon as we walked sales rep Eric Vaughn greeted us a we walked around a bit just browsing he asked what kind of support we needed and we explained to him. He then generously showed a couple beds tried them out and fell in love with then puffy style went with it and we even got the puffy pillows to go along with it and the protector. Got our bed in less than a week and absolutely love it haven’t got a good nights sleep in a long time. Thank you mattress express and Eric for the great service will be spreading the word.

We had such a great experience at Mattress express with Nick! He was so thorough with walking us through different beds from different companies and different options with each bed style. Can’t wait to enjoy 25 years sleeping on our new bed!

I walked in to try out some beds. The salesman was high pressure from the start. I worked hard to stick to my resolve, but let him run my credit to "see what I can afford and what deals he could get me." I said two or three times that I needed to think about this, that I wouldn't buy a $3,000+ mattress. He put me on what, as far as I can tell, may have been the only mattress under $2,000 in the store, told me it was "exactly like" one of the expensive ones except not flippable. I lost my resolve. I bought a bed I didn't want. I should have walked out. I drove home — I live ten minutes away — realized I didn't want that bed, and called shortly after to cancel. Apparently their little santa elves had already started making the bed and it was too late. I had no idea what the comfort exchange policy actually was, didn't know if I was supposed to have bought one of their mattress protectors, didn't know what I would need to do if the bed didn't work out. Their help bot just kept telling me the same vague thing on a loop. To their credit, Kevin reached out the next day and offered to waive the comfort exchange fee if I never used the mattress and brought it directly to the store. They were able to divert it before delivery. He invited me to come back and try again. So I did. New salesman. I showed him a specific bed I'd been eyeing online and he said they had it. I told him my budget ceiling was $2,500 and he promised he'd stay in it. He put me on the bed I'd shown him — and also somel of the same $3,000 beds the first guy had used. I should have been suspicious. When he went to complete my purchase — I'd calculated I'd likely owe a couple hundred plus tax — he told me it was going to be over $1,000 more. We eventually figured out he'd put me on the expensive version of the mattress I was eyeing. It came in different foam levels. They didn't have the lesser version on the floor. I bought it anyway and hoped for the best. Here's the part that's just bad business: the bed I never received, never slept on, and never had in my house counted as my one comfort exchange. If this one doesn't work out, I have no recourse. And I was genuinely wavering on my budget ceiling during visit two, which I communicated to the salesman as I tried beds. If they'd handled any of this decently, there was a real chance I'd have ended up buying something more expensive. That was actually one of the deciding factors keeping me from going higher — why would I risk spending $3,000+ on a bed I'd be stuck with if I didn't like it? They missed that completely. Make your own decisions. Mine is made. I'll never set foot in the store again.
