Warning to Anyone Thinking of Buying from Mattress Firm I’m posting this so other customers won’t go through what I went through. I bought a Stearns & Foster mattress from Mattress Firm (Coral Gables) for $1,720 with a big discount they gave me. After 14 months!!! the mattress developed 2 holes and the inner material started coming out. I filed a warranty claim with all required photos. Mattress Firm’s response? “Warranty void due to stains/tears/rips/burns.” In other words: you’re on your own. Then I called Stearns & Foster and learned something Mattress Firm never tells you: If you buy an S&F mattress from Mattress Firm, you get ZERO manufacturer warranty. Only Mattress Firm’s “warranty,” which they can void for basically anything. I contacted Mattress Firm again and again, calls, emails, photos. Same answer: no replacement. Only after opening a BBB complaint, they suddenly offered me: • $900 store credit • then $1,200 • then $1,720 But here’s the catch: They didn’t replace the mattress - they only gave store credit. The mattress costs $3,000, So to get the mattress replaced, Mattress Firm expects me to pay another $1,280, after already paying $1,720. And the worst part? They refused to give me any discount, not even $1 discount, not even the Black Friday promotions that every regular customer gets!!! So because my mattress was defective, they actually wanted me to pay MORE than a brand-new customer walking in today. Here’s what people need to know: • Mattress Firm’s “10-year warranty” means almost nothing. • Buying Stearns & Foster from Mattress Firm gives you no manufacturer warranty at all. • If your mattress fails, they will blame you. • Even when they finally admit the mattress is defective, they only offer partial store credit, not a replacement. • They expect you to pay hundreds or thousands more. • They do not honor the same sales or promotions offered to other customers. • Once you buy from Mattress Firm, you’re on your own. If I had seen a review like this before buying, I would never have stepped into a Mattress Firm store. I’m posting this so other people can see what I didn’t - and avoid the same experience.
