Very expensive bed, disappointing durability and warranty I purchased a Sleep Number for a significant amount; I expected reliable performance and meaningful long-term support from the company. After a few years, both sides of the mattress began losing firmness and would not remain properly inflated. The pump has also become noticeably louder and runs more often than before. I inspected the hose connections, checked the hoses for damage or leaks, and ensured everything was properly connected, but the problem persists. The advertised long-term warranty sounded reassuring when I purchased the bed, but the coverage becomes heavily prorated. That leaves the customer responsible for a substantial portion of the replacement parts, along with possible shipping or service charges. A mattress and base costing as much as this did should not develop major inflation-system problems after only a few years and then require another significant investment to repair. The adjustable firmness was useful while everything worked, but the smart features do not compensate for a mattress that cannot reliably remain inflated. I am now looking to replace it with a conventional mattress rather than pour good money after bad. Given the price, durability problems, and limited practical value of the prorated warranty, I regret purchasing this Sleep Number bed and cannot recommend it.

STAY AWAY FROM SLEEP NUMBER!!! THEIR WARRANTY IS JUNK! We purchased a sleep number bed 3 years ago and now the air pump has failed. I called in and the rep was courteous and helped me walk through the diagnosis process. We determined it was the pump that needed replaced. Then I get the "shock" that my cost was going to be $240..... (remember we are only 3 years into owning the bed). When I asked to be transferred to a supervisor to address this and she (I didn't catch her name otherwise I would certainly post it here) said " It is what it is, you should have read the warranty, this is your fault" and hung up on me. They basically have me in a hard spot, do I trash a bed we spent $6,200 on or do we spend another $240 to fix it to how it should be? UGH. If I would have bought a conventional bed for even half the cost, I wouldn't be having this issue. VERY DISAPPOINTED!!! While the sleep quality is good normally, right now we would be having similar experience with a $60 air mattress from Wal Mart. Bottom line, their supervisor for customer support was TERRIBLE (Sahar the rep I got when I called back in was great and helped me walk through it, and yes I bought a replacement pump), but this will be the last money I spend with Sleep Number EVER, only because their customer support is nonexistent and they don't stand behind their product.

There is no high pressure sales. They are very helpful and thoughtful when trying to pick the mattress since it’s a commitment. Ask for Taven he is a rockstar. Yes there is a delivery charge but they don’t have a warehouse and the closest is in Utah.

We visited the Spokane Valley store on two separate occasions to inquire about a mattress. We were ready to make a purchase but hesitated at the $250 delivery fee, especially given that we were planning to spend several thousand dollars on the mattress. Both times, we asked whether the delivery fee could be waived or reduced and were told no. There was no discussion, no effort to problem-solve, and no flexibility whatsoever. They were essentially willing to lose a $3,000 sale over a $250 fee. After leaving the store the second time, I went home and contacted Sleep Number through their website chat. The representative I spoke with was extremely helpful and willing to think creatively to resolve the issue. She explained that if we were willing to assemble the bed ourselves, the delivery fee could be reduced to $150. She also shared that she owns a Sleep Number bed and was able to assemble it herself without difficulty, which sounded perfectly reasonable to me. She then looked for additional savings and was able to apply an extra 5% discount on top of the Presidents’ Day sale. That additional 5% completely offset the remaining $150 delivery fee. This was all we were looking for—someone willing to be helpful and work through a solution. Unfortunately, that effort was completely absent at the Spokane Valley store. We spoke with Elisha, Taven, and another staff member there, and none of them showed any motivation to help or retain a new customer. I’m glad I ended up purchasing the mattress through the website. I would recommend avoiding this store and working directly with an online representative instead. Delivery timing is the same either way, since the stores don’t stock mattresses for same-day pickup. The storefront seems useful only for trying out the different models. Once you’ve done that and know what you want, it makes far more sense to leave and place the order online. Avoid this unhelpful store!
