My furniture was delivered in the rain. There was no plastic at all on the furniture. The couch was soaked and when asked about it the delivery guy said oh yea there is holes in the delivery truck roof.We sent the couch back. We drove from Milan to discuss the issue and ask for our money back only to be told by the owner he couldn’t write a check it would be Monday when the bookkeeper returned while two ladies were behind the desk. If I owned a place I would have the checkbook at all times. They state they will overnight me a check on Monday. Poor customer service.
View on GoogleAmazing staff. Very knowledgeable and HUGE inventory. We were assisted in apliances then in furniture. We were treated like family. I am so glad we shopped at Yates. Our daughter has moved to Dyersburg and a huge seeking point is they service what the sell and the owner was working on a Saturday. We knew from the integrity of this company her appliances would be delivered and set up as well as her furniture as we flew back to Texas.
View on GoogleVery nice and clean store and the people there are friendly and helpful. The only thing I would change is having some of your less expensive furniture on the lower floors so they would be more accessible to people with disabilities.
View on GoogleI recently shopped for a mattress with my elderly mother and was very disappointed with how she was treated. We were trying to support a local business. Maybe not always a good idea. After trying a few, my mother chose the one she wanted and purchased both the mattress and box springs. As soon as the delivery guys put it on the bed frame they knew it was not going to work and suggested she switch it to a low rise box spring. It was several inches above the footboard and it was very difficult for me(5’9”) to get on the bed. We noticed the tag on the mattress said it could be used with or without a foundation. Before they left we were already on the phone with the store. Based on the tag stating we didn’t need a box spring, she asked to return it and spend the money toward something else in the store. Mom didn’t want Tracy to lose any of her commission. This request was denied and she was told her only option was the low rise box spring which would need to be ordered. At this point the new mattress/box spring had only been on her bed for 30 min. She was stuck with it and had to stand on a chair to climb in the bed. She and my father get up a few times every night. They are 80 and 83. SAFETY HAZARD! The next day she eventually spoke to Tracy and was again told the only option was to trade for the low rise. She could not give her a delivery date unless she purchased another item!! Seriously?! She had already spent $1,100!! So for a week, she used a chair to climb in the bed!! She now has the low rise box spring and it’s still too high. They will most likely end up giving it away. 1. When you try out a mattress in the store, it may be a LOT lower than the one you get. Salesperson probably won’t mention that. 2. If the mattress you choose doesn’t require a box spring for support, the salesperson probably won’t mention that either. After all it’s more commission for them. 3. Once the delivery guys bring it through the front door, ABSOLUTELY NO RETURNS! This would have also been useful information. We were not told this, nor was it anywhere on the receipt. This is all very poor customer service. With so many options, we did not have to choose to do business with a locally owned store. View on GoogleMy fiance and I went to buy a queen size mattress and we bought a Windsor Self Cooling Queen mattress and are very satisfied with our customer service. Thanks to Keith Ashley so if you go to Yates General Appliances ask for Keith because he is awesome. I highly recommend that you check the store out, and I will shop here again.
