Since purchasing a mattress from American Mattress on 3/9/2025 (utica location), we have experienced three unresolved issues: an unfulfilled mattress exchange, damage to our bed frame during delivery, and a missing Memorial Day price match credit. Despite assurances at purchase that we could exchange within 120 nights, we were later told this was contingent on buying a mattress protector, which was never explained; we ultimately paid an additional $301.37 but have yet to receive the replacement mattress after months of missed delivery dates and poor communication. During the original delivery, our wooden bed frame was damaged, and although we were promised $500 in compensation, the credits have not been applied. Similarly, the $200 price-match credit from Memorial Day has not appeared on our account despite repeated calls. Across all three issues, communication has been inconsistent, deadlines have been repeatedly missed, and as of September 2025—six months after purchase—we still have no resolution, no replacement mattress, and are now considering legal action. I would not recommend anyone to purchase from this business. Communication is horrible. We have searched around and other places are able to receive stock from Tempur Pedic, so to me it seem that American Mattress is not paying Tempur Pedic. Makes sense after driving by the Utica location and seeing it completely empty! This place is completely sketchy and I am disgusted with what is transpiring. At this point, they can take the original bed back and give a refund. We will gladly take our money to a store that is able to operate properly.
View on GoogleI initially thought this was a good place however 30 days later and no delivery and no communication one star is generous. I called American Mattress only to find out my salesperson quit and no one knew anything about my order. I paid with a credit card and they were quick to process that but no mattress or base delivered to date. Now they had me speak to a manager from someplace else and added on two more weeks and free delivery. I guess when there’s no delivery that’s free. Don’t go to the Rochester Hills store only if you want a stressful experience.
