Blu Dot

This is for the furniture, not the store. You can't leave reviews online (should have taken that as a red flag right off the bat). Bought a sofa and waited 3 months which was expected. When it arrived it was pretty unimpressive for the price. Just looks and feels like a nice IKEA sofa. Right off the bat the chaise section material start bunching up. When I reached out they told me to flip it, which is funny because with the chaise part of the sofa you can't flip the cushion. It only works on 1 side....... Customer service doesn't know their own product? Second issue is they didn't send me enough legs and was 1 leg short effecting the structure and making the chaise un-useable...while they did send me the leg it was an entire set for just the 1 leg I needed, which is just wasteful. Now after having it a few months the sofa looks beat up and like we have had it for years. Tons of piling, stains super easy, uncomfortable scratch-y material, cushions look sad and ragged (we flip the cushions you can actually flip and clean all the time). Their customer service is super helpful and responsive until the day you receive the sofa...after that they are not helpful and almost felt stand-offish. Just feels like they know most people aren't going to want to pay shipping and restocking fees. I completely understand that stance, but also feel they should stand by their products for the price they're charging. Significantly better options at this price point, but the dims on the sofa fit the bill for our space so we rolled the dice. But I would never buy from them again, without at least seeing it in person.

As we reach the annual Blu Dot sale, I just wanted to warn buyers of their outdoor furniture. I generally like all of Blu Dot's items and have many in the house. They are reasonably priced modern for a reason and that is a lack of quality. I bought a few pieces of their Hot Mesh line just coming out of COVID. The chairs took over a year to deliver, but I get it with supply shortages and this isn't the gripe. Modern shouldn't be just for Southern California and if you live in any reasonably wet/humid state (me Florida) these things are rusting bad in just 3 years. The first year or two I kept them under 2nd floor deck during rainy summer but eventually gave up babying them, since um I bought them to look beautiful in the yard and to use them!! I'm always looking for aluminum framed outdoor furniture instead and this is just another case study on why!

Blu Dot makes good furniture, but they have terrible customer service. I am trying to repair a couch I bought there and they will not tell me the size of the replacement part I need to order from another company. It’s been over a month and I have had more than six contacts with them. No one will tell me what part I need from a couch they still make. You pay a lot for Blu Dot. I did do hoping that it would be a quality piece I could repair. Apparently Blu Dot doesn’t care if you throw their stuff in a landfill. They will do nothing to avoid that outcome.

Reasonably priced for such great design and quality material, and the best ever customer service. Complained to customer service from Blu Dot website about an issue with a purchase from nearly a year ago, and received a timely response from the very sales representative that had originally helped me with the purchase. A breezy couple weeks later the item is fully replaced without charge. Very impressed with the representative (her name is Wendy and she is amazing!) as well as the company customer care in general. Delivery was also a breeze. The guys are communicative, very punctual, and respective of your home, and very short wait time for furniture delivery which typically takes multiple weeks.

Worst experience with a company EVER!!!! Still have not received an over $2000 bed that I ordered over 10 days ago. On their first delivery attempt the head board was completely smashed, on the next scheduled delivery they never showed up, and now I’m on my third attempt and at this moment the delivery is over an hour late. I’ve had to take off work to be here for each delivery window, and with all the blue dot delivery problems that has been a total of 12 hours of lost work. Blue dot charged $170 in shipping for this order, of which I have requested a refund but have yet to receive it. I will not be buying anything from Blue Dot ever again!!!
