Godwin's Furniture and Mattress

The best customer service! We found a recliner that we wanted but it was in a Lapeer store where they have no clue what customer service is so came home called this store and Angela was so pleasant and caring you could feel her happiness by phone! I purchased it and picked up this morning! I might say we walked in the store greeted welcoming us explaining the lay out of the store. A gentleman was with a smile welcoming us behind the counter! I would highly recommend this store for any home furnishings they have a great selection of everything! Thank you ALL!

The service was great. I just wish the two rocker recliners I bought 2 and a half years ago held up better. They started to squeak and crack less than a year after and one chair the screws that fasten the springs to the feet snapped off. Been trying to fix it myself. I paid a thousand dollars apiece for these chairs.

We went in today and one guy said hello to us and asked if we needed help. We said yes and he said I’ll be right back I have to finish another purchase. That’s fine, we understand. We waited for him for 20-30 minutes so we could look at purchasing one we had found. He took down the numbers to the couch and said he would be right back. We sat there for another 20 minutes waiting. Finally we went up to the desk where multiple people are just standing there, no one else asks us if we needed any help. My husband took our son and walked out. Finally I verbalized my disgust in the fact no one else offered to help, he was there checking someone else out, and no one had looked up the info for us yet, and we had been there 40 minutes for nothing. The only couch my husband found out of 4 stores he actually liked and he refuses to buy it now because of the poor customer service we received. We understand that he was busy but everyone else around us was getting help from other people while we just stood there with our toddler for 40 some minutes.

The buying experience at Godwin's is unlike any other furniture store that I've shopped at. No pressure, absolutely no hounding, and our salesperson (Angela) was super friendly and wonderfully personable. The furniture itself is well-made and of high quality. The delivery experience was equally pleasant with reasonable arrival windows. After this experience with Godwin's (our first), I see no reason to shop anywhere else.
