Godwin's Furniture and Mattress

Store had a great selection of products. Jerrin was extremely helpful helping me find size, color & options i wanted without being pushy. I feel prices were fair & it will be my go store for future purchases.

Went into state street saginaw mi store Saturday. No cars in lot. Walked in all way to back past sales desk. Was back there for over 10 min no salesperson. I was looking for a mercury rocker recliner by lazy boy. Was 519.99 showed online in stock at that store and on display. Showed sales lady photo from godwins website, she looked like she had no clue what i was talking about. Wrote down info went back to desk i guess. I was back in the back area and clearance area for over 20 min saw no sales person come back nothing. Wandered store alittle longer then still no one so my time is valuable I walked out and no one said a word. Guess you don't need the business, they're are other sites to shop. This is the second time I've had poor service was looking for a mattress saw you had a sale i think it was Sealy been couple years anyway the flyer showed on sale showed sales person was told they don't carry that brand i asked for Mgr she said she was i believe a Godwin that was her last name. Was no help at all kinda blew me off saying they don't carry i said then why in your ad that was delivered to my house locally. After recent issue and second time with issues I will not be shopping at godwins state street ever.

I purchased furniture at the beginning of this year. Table and chairs, two couches and two recliners. I was offered the warranty on all product. I normally don’t pay for warranty but I did as our salesperson Desirae informed us it covers everything. So we decided to go with it. They came out and fixed our dining room chairs as we first received the set, the chairs were not firm and felt broken. Just recently the top of the table has begun to peel. I keep a table runner and placemats on my table at all times. I called for service, the service guy came out and stated that should not be happening, he took photos even with my placemats on the table and stated he would get back to me. I said okay, a week passed and we received a phone call stating it would not be covered as it is moisture damage. I was not happy. I called the service department on Bay Road, a woman answered the phone, I believe her name was Alison, stated that yes it is not covered. She informed me that to refinish the table would cost more than the table, then what is the point of the protection/warranty plan your salesperson sold me. She said she would pass the message along to the manager of service and he would call me back. I could tell by her attitude I wouldn’t get a call back, sure enough almost 3 weeks later nothing. I called Desirae multiple times last week and left multiple messages. She has yet to return my phone calls. I even called the personal work cell phone that was given to me and left a message. Still nothing. It was funny when I first was in the process of purchasing this merchandise it was a quick response now all of a sudden crickets. I DO NOT RECOMMEND GODWINS, they DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR WARRANTY/protection plan. I even used the Care Kit that Godwin’s advertises to clean my table. I posted pictures of what my table looks like on a normal basis, a table runner and placemats. It changes with the holidays/seasons but that is my setup. The spots that are popping up and peeling under the placemats. This is the cleaning kit given to me by GODWINS TO CLEAN MY PRODUCTS, but moisture damage is my fault and not covered recently went in to Godwin’s to pick up a copy of my receipt. The lady who provided me with the receipt asked why I needed it. I explained for personal and to contact Ashley Furniture. I informed what happened. She said well you have gold plan, that should be covered. I said nope you service manager said no. So at this point it will turn in to contacting other people. She said that is horrible if Tom Goodwin knew what was going on, he would not be happy. I told her, I hope not, because this is sad how they treat their customers.

Manipulative and shady sales people. They will lie and sugercoat to any extend to get you buy furniture which will break down in a month after you buy them. Then they will do nothing to come fix them. Stay away from this place.

Have been going to Godwin's since the late seventies. During those times my dad gave an older gentleman television repair business. Can't compare the quality and great prices. Find your house full at Godwin's and sit comfortable. Mattresses and recliners to complete bedroom sets. Deals one won't find anywhere else. Thank You for providing excellence.
