Mattress Firm 1st Ave

I have used Mattress Firm before, but not this particular store. I needed a queen size mattress for my guest room and Kallie did such a good job showing me all the different mattresses and explaining the differences and prices of each one. She was very knowledgeable, respectful, and just very pleasant to work with. And I found one that I think will work very well for me. Thank you, Kallie! Job well done!

I recently moved to Cedar Rapids from out of state with basically no furniture, so finding the right mattress quickly was a priority. Walking into Mattress Firm on 1st Ave I was greeted by Janice, who made the entire experience exceptional from start to finish. Janice was knowledgeable, informative and never once made me feel pressured. I came in undecided between a Purple mattress and a DreamCloud, and she gave me everything I needed to feel confident in my decision. Being able to try it out on the spot sealed the deal. She also set realistic expectations on delivery, then turned around and got me scheduled earlier than expected. As someone just getting settled in a new city with an empty apartment, that meant more than she probably knows. The delivery itself was seamless. Confirmation the day before, a 25 minute heads up window, and a friendly crew who set everything up exactly where I wanted it. Smooth from beginning to end. I left feeling genuinely taken care of, not just as a customer but as someone new to the area. Janice helped me find the right bed within my budget and gave me one of the warmest welcomes to a new state I have ever experienced in all my years of moving around for work. Highly recommend this location and ask for Janice without hesitation.

Kallie at Mattress Firm was exceptionally nice to work with. There was absolutely no pressure. She was knowledgeable in her field and kept no details hidden. She was upfront, honest and kind. We could not have purchased from anyone better. We had to bring our two small children in while we shopped & neither employee made us feel like they were a burden. They were so kind and accommodating. Finally, a huge shout out to Janice. She supported her co-worker, Kallie & was super helpful with information.

Great customer service when you are looking to buy, not so much after the sale is completed. Delivery was supposed to be 5:45 at the latest, at 6:30 I called to get an eta. Shortly after I received a text saying they were in route with an arrival time of 31 minutes. The truck finally arrived at 8:05. Had I not already taken our bed down and disassembled the frame I would have rescheduled. It was 19 degrees out and the bed was basically frozen and the foam was rock hard at 9:00 pm. Two days later we had a question about payment and left a message in the morning, no surprise, our call was not returned. The price of our bed is set by the manufacturer so it is the same no matter where you go. There are many other stores you can get this bed, consider going elsewhere. The morning after posting my review Janice called and offered some products to make up for the shortcomings and apologize for the lack of communication. Both were appreciated.

Kallie at Mattress Firm was absolutely amazing to work with. From the moment I walked in, she listened to what I actually needed instead of trying to upsell me into something that wasn’t a good fit. She was patient, knowledgeable, and made the whole process feel easy and low pressure… which I really appreciated. She helped me find the perfect mattress within my budget and took the time to answer all my questions so I felt confident in my decision. You can tell she genuinely cares about helping her customers sleep better, not just making a sale. If you go to this location, definitely ask for Kallie, she’s the best!
