American Mattress

If I could leave less than one store I would. Canton location closed and I ended up having to call around to different stores to find out about our purchase. Called Plymouth store and the manager from the canton location answered and gave excuses how he was going to get around to calling us about the purchase. Now why would a customer have to find out on their own that the location they bought a product from closed and then have to call around to other locations to try and get an answer? I would not recommend American Mattress to anyone. The customer service was absolutely terrible. But that’s how they get you, they act very kind in the beginning and get you to want to buy from them, but as soon as they have your money, that’s it. Communication becomes nonexistent and the lies begin — I constantly had to reach out for updates, and even then, I was given vague or inaccurate information. I was told over and over again that my product would arrive “in a week.” Each week came and went with no mattress and no proactive communication. Instead of honest updates, I kept getting the same empty promise. It felt like no one actually knew what was going on or cared enough to find out. If you value your time, money, and basic customer service, I strongly suggest shopping elsewhere. This was an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience. 3-6 weeks mattress was promised, still have no delivery date or any real communication from them and here we are almost 11 weeks later. Over 3k, and can’t get anyone to give me an actual answer. If you are in need of a new mattress, go somewhere else because apparently you won’t receive anything from American Mattress but lies and excuses.

During regular opening hours it was closed, although the OPEN sign was illuminated. Looks like they ran out of business.

UPDATE: I walked out of my buying experience on 2/22 excited for a new mattress. I was told that my estimated delivery date was 3/15. As time went on and I did not hear anything about a potential delivery time, I contacted the store. This was on 3/14. I did not receive a call back. I called again on 3/15 and was told that my delivery had changed to 4/1. A few more weeks passed and I once again did not receive any updates or delivery confirmation times so I called on 3/29. Gary told me that I would receive a call from his boss on Monday, 3/31. By 5:30 pm on Monday, I still had not received a phone call and once again had call the store. I was told that I would receive an update the next day and would receive money back from my troubles. I was informed today that they have finally located a mattress from a different region and they will be shipping it to Michigan by the weekend. However, the delivery should be 4/8 "just in case" it takes longer than expected. No compensation was ever mentioned. I recognize that deliveries can change and there are just some things out of our control however, there is no excuse for the complete lack of communication from American Mattress. No one ever cared to update me on my order or let me know that my delivery date changed multiple times. I highly recommend saving yourself the headache and going anywhere else.

We were referred here by my mom, who has purchased a few mattresses here in the past and is very happy with them. Kevin assisted us and was incredibly knowledgable and patient with us and all our questions. He is truly an industry expert and was able to educate us and help us pick the best mattress for us. The white glove delivery and removal was easy and quick to schedule, I actually was able to get the mattress delivered the day after we were notified of it being ready! So far the mattress is exactly what we had hoped for (it's only been a week), and we are very happy customers! Thank you, Kevin, for all your help!
