Thomas was amazing! He was extremely patient and friendly and helped us find the mattress that best fit for us. There was zero pressure and he answered all of our questions. If you're looking for a mattress, I definitely recommend this location! Great prices for any budget and they offer financing as well.

I had a wonderful shopping experience with the Escondido Mattress Firm. Teissa is extremely knowledgable and effective. She listened carefully to me and asked clarifying questions in order to help me find the perfect mattress.
Teissa has been with Mattress Firm many years in several different locations. I will seek her out the next time I need a mattress.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 10/10 — Highly recommend
I had a great experience at Matchless Firm in Escondido (West Valley Parkway) today. Chris was the gentleman who helped me out, and he was excellent from start to finish.
I initially tried the brand-new purple adjustable pillow. Chris started getting me set up with it, then told me the price—and I was like… uhhh. No way, José 😅 (didn’t actually say that, but it crossed my mind). I told him my budget, and instead of pushing the expensive option, he walked back around the store with me and helped me find another pillow that accomplished very similar support.
I laid on it right there in the store. Super chill atmosphere. I got into that calm, settled headspace of, okay, this is how it’s going to be for the next who-knows-how-long, and I was genuinely comfortable. I could actually see myself sleeping on this pillow long term. I’m really big into dreams (and visions), and while this one doesn’t relate to visions per se, I’m definitely going to be dreaming up a storm with this pillow. Glory to God.
Chris was professional, personable, and clearly cares about both his job and the people he helps. We talked about life, work, and why what he does actually matters. For me personally, I’ll be driving a lifted work truck, and if my neck is sore, that’s not just uncomfortable—it’s a safety issue. If I’m compensating with a stiff neck or taking lots of ibuprofen just to function, that can increase real risks while driving. I’ve taken first aid classes, and even EMTs need to know if you’re taking ibuprofen because it affects blood circulation. From a safety standpoint alone, proper neck and head support matters.
That’s why I really think it’s worth coming into a mattress store like this and actually trying pillows in person. Otherwise, you’re stuck in the endless Amazon cycle of buying, returning, buying, returning. Yes, you might pay a small premium—maybe $20 or $30—but you get to test the pillow, talk to someone knowledgeable, and have a genuinely pleasant experience.
10 out of 10 would recommend Matchless Firm Escondido. Ask for Chris.
I had to return something to 5.11, so when the Esco location didn’t have what I needed in stock coming to the Oceanside location [where photo was taken] was super convenient for me. This way I get to sleep on a good pillow ASAP.

I had a tough time deciding on which mattress to purchase with all the choices and features. With help through the chat box online, I had a mattress picked out. It was delivered very tightly and double wrapped so it was tough to open and the mattress was cut as a result. Bed opened fast and no smells were detected by me. I slept on it the first week and had the worst sleep if any. Knowing it takes time to get used to a new mattress, I was patient. The following week was heaven sleeping in the bed. The next week was the same. I was happy. As recommended, I rotated the mattress and I had the worst sleep. Everyday I woke up with neck, shoulder, hip and back pain. I did all the stretches I know to relieve the pain thinking I overdid something during the day. This bad sleep continued. I rotated the mattress back the way it was. I know damn well that wouldn’t be the problem but I had to try it anyway. I still get crappy sleep. I gave 4 stars for customer service. I can’t enjoy my bed. I don’t know what happened. It hogs up my bed frame too. Hard to make the bed. So I don’t know if I can exchange the mattress. It had a 1” tear that I was able to glue and then there is a restocking fee. Are the mattresses resold? I got the 13” hybrid with a 5” box that is so cheaply made. I should have purchased an old fashioned bed. I just don’t know what to do.

Had a great experience. Very accomodating people and had worked on my need and balanced my wants in finding the right mattress for me and my husband. Highly reccomend to go and see the experts instead of risking buying a mattress online and not getting the right quality of sleep for yourself and your loved one. Shout out to Daniel and Teissa! 👏
