Relax The Back

We had a fantastic experience at Relax the Back! Bob, the owner and salesman, was extremely personable and just a genuinely great guy to talk to. You could immediately tell that he knows his products inside and out. There was absolutely no sales pressure at any point—just helpful, honest guidance. Bob did an excellent job demonstrating each of the zero gravity recliners for us. He carefully went over the various functions and options of every chair and had me sit in each one while he explained the features. He also showed us the different wood finishes and leather color options available for each model, which really helped us visualize what would work best in our home. After narrowing it down to two chairs, Bob went into great detail explaining the differences so we could make an informed decision. We actually drove from Pensacola to Birmingham just to look at these chairs, and we’re so glad we did. We’re very happy with our purchase and can’t wait for delivery! Highly recommend Relax the Back—and especially Bob—if you’re looking for knowledgeable service and a great buying experience.

Bob D. (owner) at Relax the Back store in Birmingham, Alabama, did a great job helping me design my new home office chair (Custom Mid Back Ultimate Exec. Office Chair). I've been sitting in it for the past couple of days and it's far superior to my previous chair(s). The adjust ability of the chair is amazing for changing your seating position throughout the day depending on if you like to lean forward or rest back in the seat (see the videos on how many ways this chair adjusts). Supporting the lumbar is important to me as well as the adjustable neck support which allows me to custom fit my back/neck for proper alignment. My sister is a chiropractor and advised the proper support areas the neck and lumbar sections of the chair should be set. This differs for everyone as we're not all created alike (I'm 6-0 tall & 250 lbs) and that's why this chair is superior to others. My rear end does not become fatigued in the seat due to the dense memory foam that supports at the proper levels. I would be happy with an ugly chair if it did all of this but this chair is a work of art and fully customizable from cloth to fancy leathers and the ability to choose the design layout details. I encourage you not to order this online but see Bob personally at the store or on phone, to help you design the layout of your chair to match your decor, style. Don't be surprised at the cost of this chair, it's expensive, but so too does a great bed...I spend just as much time in my chair as my bed so it's important to me to have proper comfort/support. Two thumbs up for the chair and a Big High Five to Bob for helping me design it!!! Bill S. in B'ham

I bought the most comfortable office chair at Relax the Back in Vestavia! Bob was so helpful and patient with me and helped me be sure I was getting just the right one. Once it arrived, he assembled it for me and loaded it into my car. I had the best day at work today, sitting in my new chair!

Bob at Relax the Back was wonderful to deal with on my purchase of a second Hale Premier Zero Gravity chair. I previously purchased one of these chairs in 2016 for my late husband who had back issues but later gave it to my brother who is still using it. Bob actually helped us order a replacement power supply that got lost in a move recently. I’m having my own back issues now and decided I wanted one. Instead of ordering online or driving an hour away to the showroom, I did the whole purchase over the phone with Bob. He kept me updated about the status of the chair via text. He delivered it to me at a much lower cost than if I had ordered online and instructed me on the operation pointing out differences between the older chair and the new one. I was impressed he remembered me as one of his first customers at his previous location. I love the chair and feel confident it will help me feel better.

Excellent experience with Relax The Back. When I visited the shop looking for a mattress, I was helped by the owner Bob Duncan. He was very informative, answered all of my questions, and helped me understand what additional questions I should be asking when purchasing a mattress. I was never pressured, and was able to take all the time I needed to decide on my purchase. My new mattress was delivered right on time, and I was kept informed at each step in the delivery process. I will definitely return to Relax The Back for future purchases, and will recommend the store to my friends.
