Bob's Discount Furniture and Mattress Store

The store is huge and has beautiful furniture. The customer service is good but can do better. I went into the store to purchase a sofa and everything was ok at first. We waited for more than an hour and finally pay for the item. We were directed to a gentleman who weren’t that professional. Just cut us off widen we tried to ask a question. We were sold a larger sofa than we asked for , and had to canceled the whole transaction and do it over again to get the right size. The process took more than 2 hours and I was upset wasting so much time in a store that wasn’t busy or had many customers at the time.

this place is very well kept and the staff is amazing. bought several items here; didn’t like how pushy they were for their delivery service as we have a big truck ourselves. free ice cream and snacks for the kids and good coffee to enjoy as you browse.

Why am I writing this review? Because everyone at Bob's Furniture—from the store manager down to the sales staff—is shirking responsibility. Is this a case of a large corporation bullying its customers? On April 11th, I purchased a sofa set at the Triangle Centre location (139-19 20th Ave, College Point, NY 11356). Due to work commitments, my original delivery date of the 15th was rescheduled to the 29th. At the time of purchase, we explicitly requested a Certificate of Insurance (COI). Between the 11th and the 29th—the scheduled delivery date—we sent countless messages reminding them and requesting the COI; however, we did not receive the actual COI form until the afternoon of the 28th. When we opened the form, we discovered a stipulation stating that it must be completed and submitted *72 hours* in advance. Consequently, due to this oversight, we lacked the required COI and were fined $300 by our Homeowners Association (HOA). We had assumed that a company of this magnitude would surely act responsibly; however, upon seeking resolution, we realized that this was merely an illusion. We approached the store manager, only to be told by this "gentleman" that "the store manager cannot offer us any assistance whatsoever." I sincerely hope this review captures the company's attention: Why—given the 72-hour advance requirement for the COI—was the form sent to us only on the afternoon *before* the delivery? And why did you proceed with the delivery on the scheduled day despite the absence of the necessary COI? Given such a glaring error, does Bob's Furniture not bear any responsibility toward its customers? 🚨If zero-star reviews were an option, I wouldn't even want to give it a single star.

Alex was so helpful and patience when choosing the new couch that will be delivered to my home. He provided payment options and did an approval in the store within a few minutes. He was friendly and offered options to suit my family’s needs. I recommend seeing the inventory. Everything is comfy and comes with a warranty that can be something I need especially with a 19-month old.

I interacted with 2 sales associates on 2 different occasions and they were both pleasant.The store was clean and had many furniture options. My only thought ' was that I wish I was offered a better package deal when purchasing my 6 piece bedroom set.
