Kane's Furniture - Lakeland

★☆☆☆☆ I purchased furniture from Kane’s Furniture in 2022. From the day it was delivered, I noticed what appeared to be sawdust or wood debris coming from the furniture. At the time, I assumed it was normal manufacturing residue and thought nothing of it. Over the following years, I continued to notice debris and eventually discovered what appeared to be termite activity within the furniture, including kick-out holes and frass. Concerned about the possibility of termites spreading, I immediately removed and disposed of the furniture rather than risk further damage to my home. Unfortunately, I later had a termite professional inspect my home and confirm termite activity. Looking back, the debris I observed from the furniture from the day it was delivered appears consistent with termite frass rather than ordinary sawdust. I provided Kane’s with photos and videos documenting the issue. However, because I had already disposed of the furniture to protect my home, Kane’s refused to provide any assistance, replacement, or resolution, stating that they could not inspect the product. What I find most troubling is the position this puts customers in. If you believe furniture may contain wood-destroying insects, do you leave it in your home long enough for a warranty investigation, or do you remove it immediately to protect your property? I chose to protect my home and was effectively told that doing so eliminated any possibility of assistance. The customer service representatives were polite, but the outcome was disappointing. After purchasing furniture from Kane’s, observing what appeared to be termite-related debris from day one, later dealing with termite activity in my home, and ultimately receiving no assistance, I cannot recommend Kane’s Furniture and will be taking my business elsewhere.
