The Futon Shop

We spent a couple weeks making our decision to purchase a bed and sofa from The Futon Shop. Devan was SO helpful, sweet, and patient with us as we took our time to make the right decision. He is one of the best salesmen I have ever worked with. He never pressured us to make a sale, he would just kindly answer all our questions. In the end he helped us ship everything to Colorado and made our purchasing experience so wonderful. Thank you Devan!

It’s not easy to overhaul a sleep system from the ground up. Andrew and Devan were instrumental in helping me to build a new setup, piece by piece. Forget any expectations about purchasing the typical mass produced synthetic items, and embrace the effort required to navigate this “farm to furniture” model that will last you many years. From the shiki mattress and custom cover on my tatami frame, to the massive number of pillow options, both Andrew and Devan worked with me multiple times to ensure I was satisfied with my purchase decisions. Sometimes I was picky, or I made a mistake that I’d regret, and there was no judgment – only amazing customer service from the store staff to find the right solution. Take your time to get it right, and be kind if something doesn’t work out.

Great Saturday morning customer service! Chris listened to me, educated me and made great suggestions based on my wants. I haven’t received the futon yet, but am excited to receive it for my narrow office/guest room.

I bought a tatami bed with solid headboard, directly at this shop in person at the end of August. The staff was welcoming and friendly. At the time of purchase I was given a 4-6 week delivery lead time. ~4 weeks later (mid-Oct) I received a call saying the delivery was ready for later that week, but then a day before the actual delivery date I was suddenly told my delivery was still a month out. So over 2 months pass (beg-Nov) and I FINALLY receive my delivery. The delivery staff were pretty rough with the materials, and chipped the bottom right corner of the bed frame. There's also a missing slat, of which the Futon shop is meaning to follow-up, but the store staff now keep deferring me to the delivery drivers, which I feel is irresponsible as it removes them from the equation. Overall I dont think I recommend this place as they don't seem to care about their customers once the sale is done.
