American Mattress

Got a great deal on a mattress (floor model) and box spring. It was well within our budget. Bobby was super helpful in making our choice. Gave us great advice also (the spot is completely gone, like it never happened) Delivery guys were great also. Highly recommend Bobby and this business. Will definitely shop there again for any of our new mattress needs. Thanks again!

Bought a mattress here over President's Day and had a decent experience. Then they delayed the delivery date once. Then twice. Then three times. Come late-March and I find out the store is temporarily closed with a number to call for order inquiries. I call the number, no one answers and the voicemail isn't even set up. I call again a few days later. Same deal. Call again a week later, same deal... and then news media finally releases that American Mattress filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. I wouldn't be pissed, except for the fact that it had been almost two months since I ordered my mattress and had no idea what was going on since the company left their customers in the dark during the whole thing and essentially ditched them once word got out. Ended up buying from Macy's after this whole fiasco and got the mattress in 4 days and as of early April, still haven't heard from them since late February. Honestly, this company appears to be on its way out, but taking new orders and then ditching their customers and lack of communication during these times is pretty shady...thank goodness I financed so that no actual physical money was removed...

Bought a mattress here years ago from Jim and returned years later for new pillows because of how good the experience was. Highly knowledgeable, good honest advice, and they also work to find you the best deal. Highly recommend the store.

I'm at a loss. We were supposed to receive a mattress and 2 pillows that we purchased on 3/6/26. We had been instructed that we would be notified the evening before or the day of for the exact drop off time. We were also told that we needed to remove our old mattress/box spring because they do not offer that service. We paid $155 to have this removed. 3/6/26 comes and it's in the afternoon and no communication from American Mattress. We call and someone answers the phone and tells us our mattress is not coming until 3/20/26. No one ever communicated this to us. We received 0 texts/calls/emails and have also gotten rid of our mattress per their needs. The man on the phone said since he was not our sales rep he could not help us, however, our sales rep Bobby would be in the next day and we would go over some solutions. I have called three times and left three voicemails. I have written 1 email. I have called corporate 2 times. During all of these communications we have yet to hear back from Bobby or corporate. My husband has also called the store 3 times. 1 of those 3 times that sales rep [who is not ours] answered the phone and said he was not able to help since he isn't our specific rep but told us that the mattress is now delayed to early April with no guarantee it will be delivered at that time. WE WERE ONCE AGAIN NEVER TOLD THIS!!!! Also, we then found out American Mattress can remove a mattress and box spring..... I am livid. In total we have left 6 messages for Bobby with no response back [even though we have been told he has been at work] we have left 2 messages for corporate [no response back]. We have been lied to, ignored, and disrespected. Also, our credit card has been fully charged for this order. We have been sleeping on the ground and there seems to be no end in sight. We need someone to contact us back.

I just moved to Chicago 4 weeks ago and I've been sleeping on an air mattress to get me by. That was until one day, I woke up with excruciating back pain and realized it was time to finally buy a big girl mattress. I browsed around a few different stores but always felt like they were trying to upsale me which was a huge turn off. I've always passed this particular American Mattress store on my way to Target and decided to walk in on a whim. When I tell you it was the best decision I made! Aidin took his time and listened to what I wanted. He verified everything with me before even showing me anything which I appreciated. I came in looking for an extra firm mattress thinking that's what I needed for my back pain but I ended up walking away with a Hybrid Firm mattress that's still firm to support my back but has some give to it that makes it really comfortable. It's the best of both worlds! With a 4 month mattress tryout period and a 10 year warranty, I was sold! Come on in and support your local businesses. Don't be like me and always pass by without even walking in first. Aidin truly was a life AND back saver.
