Steinhafels

Don’t purchase things from Steinhafels! Their products are horrible quality. I purchased a couch that is falling apart in only two years. Their store general manager will not help. We even purchased the 4-year protection plan and they denied the claim that specifically meets the “what is covered” on the contract. The protection plan is a scam and so is this company. I posted this on their Facebook account and their company’s response was to block me. Apparently they try to hide negative reviews too.

I have always had a good experience at Steinhafels. The Vernon Hills location is the store I visit most. The sales people and management teams are friendly and knowledgeable. They always an abundant selection, also you can have custom made furniture to fit your personal style. Thank you for always being patient while I am trying to figure out what I am looking for.

We paid an extra 40 dollars to have our couches delivered. They stated that with this fee, they would also check the pieces and make sure nothing was broken. The delivery never came even though i was home waiting for it all day. The customer service people were very unhelpful and rude. I ended up renting a uhaul to get the pieces and when we went to pick them up, the boxes were all taped up and obviously were not checked. By the time we unpacked them at home, there were a few spots that were lightly broken. I am confident this did not happen when i moved them myself. The couches themselves are very low quality and were falling apart almost instantly. Screws fall out, recliners stop working, threads are loose all over them, and they are just overall cheaply made and not built to last. The arm rests are all broken from peoples elbows putting weight on them. Plywood quality wood all over the couch. The sales people are obviously nice and friendly, but as soon as you have an issue and have to deal with customer service, it is a night and day difference. It has been a few years now and the couches are still usable but they are very low quality and do not have much time left most likely. We will never shop at steinhafels every again. This whole experience has been awful and if i could go back in time, we would never have gone there. Please do yourself a favor and try a different furniture store.

Janice was very helpful and knowledgeable in helping us find a couch and accent chair and a rug for our living room. Her suggestions were great and we loved that she was very honest, down to earth, and not pushy like the experiences we had at other places nearby. I have been a customer of Steinhafels for many years starting with my first La-Z-Boy. she’s really great and it was a great experience. She made it very easy for us both. Thanks again!

Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Our salesperson was apparently new. She had to check with a manager a few times when it came to what discounts were available. Her product knowledge was very good however and she was very personable. She was also very patient with showing my 93 year father recliners. Overall it was a pleasant shopping experience. The product selection was impressive as well.
