American Mattress

The salesman was courteous and helpful. The product is a great value. Normally I would give the experience Five stars except for one issue. When the mattress was delivered and set up the serviceman commented that it was very tall. The box spring was 9” and it should have been 5” or 2”. He told me this happens quite often and, if I called the salesman, the company would replace it. I went to see the salesman and he told me that they would be happy to exchange the box spring for a $90 fee. When I bought the mattress he never asked me about the size of the box spring. I had no idea there were different sizes. I “assumed” he knew what he was doing. Maybe he does and this is how they get another $90 on the sale. Fore-warned is to be fore-armed. Do business with American Mattress, but recognize they are salespeople earning a living. Look out for yourself.

We loved the Beauty rest K-Class top of the line mattress at few other stores. American Mattress did not stock the medium firmness kind, but offered to order it. They had the best price so we ordered it. We received it in 2 weeks and spent over $5,000 on the mattress and frame. The mattress that arrives was so firm we could barely sleep on it. We did manage to sleep on it for 30 days and went to the store and spoke with salesperson and they told me that since they "special ordered" it there was no refunds or exchanges. The manager convinced us that it needed more time to break in. We then gave it another 60 days+ and it did not change. We ended up spending another $1,000 at Menards buying a cheap mattress so we could finally get a good night sleep. We are out $4,000 and the mattress is sitting in our living room and I dont even know what to do with it. They clearly sold us a mattress that was not the same as the Beautyrest K-class. We visited 5 other mattress stores and the medium firmness was perfect in all other stores. Its been 6 months now and I am still upset over this. Here it is in our dining room. For sale I guess.

We've purchased two mattresses from the store in Crystal Lake within the past few years and were very pleased with both experiences. A competitor advertises no help on the show room floor. The help on the show room floor is what makes American Mattress stand out! Due to some joint issues, I needed a different mattress than the one we had purchased. I appreciated being able to explain my changing needs and get intelligent recommendations to meet my particular situation. Our sales person, never pushed and allowed us as much time as we needed to try different options and discuss what was best for us. As for the mattress we purchased, we are loving our new Tempurpedic!

We visited the Crystal Lake store and Charlie was our salesman. Charlie took time to listen to our needs and thoroughly answered our questions. He patiently waited while we tried out several mattresses and made our decision. The price was good and delivery was arranged for just a few days later. It took less than 10 minutes to remove our old bed, bring in the new bed and set it up. This is our 3rd mattress purchase and we will use them again if the need arises. Our previous mattresses from American Mattress are still in great shape and are very comfortable.

Nathaniel was awesome! He was very helpful and professional. He went above and beyond service. We needed a mattress same day and he was able to accommodate our needs and price point I would shop there again due to our experience with him.
